I’ve never played splinter cell but I was (am) a massive fan of the metal gear solid series and I’m hoping the ps4 can continue the series and do it justice. Obviously the graphics etc will be a step up but I can’t shake the feeling that the earlier mgs’s, namely mgs2&3 (on the ps2), were so much more playable despite the older, less impressive graphics. Anyone else agree or is it just me?
I honestly think MGS 2 was the best one. I thought the environments (the tanker and the big shell) were the coolest/funnest to explore, the story was the best, and it was revolutionary and well ahead of its time.

Also, if you have the HD collection like i do, the remastered graphics hold up pretty well even today.
The first part of it, on the ship when you have to crawl around the back of the assembly of naval men, moments like that were the most fun I’ve had playing a game.

I’ve gotta say though personally, mgs 3 - snake eater was my favourite. The environment, the story line, the bosses. The sniper battle with ‘The End’ is easily my favourite boss fight ever, and so hard! Even on the next few times I tried it. And the ending SPOILER ALERT where snake has to kill big boss I’m not gonna lie it got me a little choked up ha! And the scenery for that battle was just awesome, with all the tall white flowers swaying in the wind. If anyone reading this never played it then it probably comes across as gay as. But it’s the best :)
I really loved the sniper battle on my first way through, eventually I found the cheat way of sneaking up behind him and always used to use that so it got incredibly boring, kind of wish I could go back in blind.

The Boss is so great, and seeing The Sorrow and the original Ocelot and that whole story arc is one I really enjoyed. The final fight scene where The Boss dies before the MIGs come down is such a great scene. Just seeing the original Snake’s timeline play out is what makes up most of my favourite MGS moments, I can’t wait for The Phantom Pain to show up and carry on that time before Solid and Liquid become a driving force.

Man I really want to see how MGSV turns out, I’m really excited for the open world.

At first they wanted to make

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER ALERT Snake killing The Boss a cutscene, but Kojima stated that he wanted to make players feel the weight of having killed The Boss… and boy… i still carry that weight, all the way through Peace Walker SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER End

I really enjoyed Peace Walker despite the lighter tone and mood, but MGS3 is still my favorite, Kojima was a subversive mofo making everyone believe on trailers that Solid would be the main character on MGS2, still an excellent game, but my least favorite due to Raiden.

By the way it hasn’t stopped me from buying Revengeance, i still haven’t started it yet, but every game on MGS Saga is a must-play.

Never played peace walker, is it. Worth getting? Is it on the hd collection?

fuck playstation. xbox one will have the new metal gear solid also and tons of other better games than ps4.
You should post in the xbox one thread…oh wait, they aint one. Guess that speaks volumes regarding its popularity.

I hope you enjoy paying more money, for a weaker console, with shite house owned developers and are looking forward to the inevitable time when Microsoft gives you a nice system update turning back on DRM and other shite policies.

If you have any doubt in your pea brain that they will do this, watch this and skip to 8:40 to watch him bullshit his way around their horrendous unveiling.

“I hope that some point in the future, some of those cool features, some of that family sharing, that house hold sharing stuff, the games are always with you, WE WANT TO BRING THAT STUFF BACK.”

They gonna fuck you in the ass fanboy.
LOL

All this.

Yes to both, Peace Walker is worth it and is on the PS3 HD Collection. Since it was originally a PSP game, they decided not to include it on the Vita HD Collection, which is the main reason I haven’t bought that yet.

The only thing microsoft is going bring back is the DRM, just later rather than sooner.

This i have no doubt of, and anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant as fuck. For god’s sake they’ve even hinted at it.

Video highlighting the PS4 social aspects.

What is wrong with some people.

“Hey I dislike the topic of this thread. Let me tell everyone in here how much their topic sucks and how much better my thing is!”

Is it possible kids nowadays are so hooked on the “share” thing that it will be a big “plus” for the ps4?

We don’t need more gameplay videos and stuff similar to that, imagine the volume of 12 years old kids sending that to youtube or whatever storage place sony have in mind.

Or maybe i got so detached from the current trends that my opinion doesn’t count anymore.

^ I can see the whole share feature being pretty big this gen. I personally won’t use it probably ever, but it looks neat. A lot of people put everything on social media and I doubt that’s going to change.

Man, all the times I’ve done some crazy Major League flukes in gaming and not recorded them, this may be my chance to save the new ones when they come. I enjoy that thought.

Ya it could be good for a laugh.

They need to limit the amount you can upload from the console per account. otherwise it will be full of teh l337 pwnzors headshot from some boring generic FPS game. COD most likely.

Gonna be awesome for the fluke moments in BF4 like sniping chopper pilots lol.

I can’t wait for someone riding a MIG and 360 no-scoping a helicopter guy and then diving into his helicopter before it bottoms out.

I think this is serious competition for Apple TV, Google TV, Roku, and other streaming devices since it has those capabilities plus can play the huge library of PSOne, and PSP games, plus hopefully will lead to more Vita games.

Hopefully it gets released outside of Japan sooner rather than later.

Just another nail in the coffin for MS (figuratively speaking, i dont actually believe Xbox will be a TOTAL failure)

With all the extra support Vita has been getting, and will continue to get, combined with the new Vita TV and PS4 already the preferred system over Xbone, i just dont see how they can compete.

MS will sell off its game division after Xbone.

Now im gonna have to buy a vita

I would still try to get a model 1 Vita vs. the new redesigned model. I like the changes to the buttons, the longer battery life, and the built in memory, but the OLED on the original Vita seems like it is still superior to the LCD on the re-designed model.

There have been rumors of a PS4/Vita bundle for $500 - I wonder if it was actually for a PS4/Vita TV bundle.

I do like my Vita a lot though, and think with the PS4 integration it will be even better.

The redesigned vita is only available in Japan right now. No western release date has been given. Also, it sounded to me as though the new redesign is supposed to exist alongside the “original” vita as a cheaper option. I would definitely opt for the OLED screen.

God damn it…I’m gonna end up buying AS4. I just know it.
