Yep mine too, its almost like the old ones, but the two missions I have done have been during the day. :-/

I loved the night games, I have yet to have to use the night vision.

Only complaint.
The sonar thingamajig upgrades for the goggles is real cool, mine are a sweet lilac colour.

Now playing Splinter cell doing one mission last night and took me an hour to stalk a bunch of fuckers and shoot them in the head and cut their throats.

That is therapeutic
Blacklist turned out to be so much better than I thought it would, I really like that game. You played much of the story? I play it round my friend’s house and I’ve spent most of my time with Spies Vs Mercs, which I enjoy seeing.
Dude this game came out here on Tuesday. When did you get it?

My friend was on a trip to New York and decided to buy it yesterday before he came back, he rang me and told me it was real good so I brought round some beer after work and we spent some of the night on the multiplayer. I might buy it for myself soon, I don’t think it’s too long before it comes out here, I’ve played barely any story, I just went through some kind of Middle East market mission he was on to check out what the story mode is like, I’m very tempted to buy it because it feels way better to me than Conviction did.

Ya, it just seems odd two of the biggest games this year will be released prior to the system. I’m assuming they are being released the same day as the PS3/360 release, which would make sense. I guess tha’ts it.
Eh, i dont give a damn about either of them so im not worried about it. Long as i can get ACIV, Killzone and Watch Dogs at launch, ill be ecstatic.
I’m all about BF4. I’m getting the Killzone launch bundle. It looks dirty. I might get ACIV, but I’m getting a tired of the series. I didn’t even finish 3.
Although BF4 will probably look pretty good on the PS4, I would recommend the PC version for a better/fuller experience. BF3 is a fantantic game.
I’m a console guy. I just don’t have the interest to build & update a PC. I’m sure it looks insane on a PC though.
Yea. I respect the PC guys.

We have had this discussion a ton. Some people like Pepsi some like Coke why is this so hard to understand?
You can buy ready-made PCs for less than you think. They dont need you to be a know-it-all about software updates either.

If you can find your way around a smart phone or a PC at work, you can operate a gaming PC.
You can also buy a new console and be good for the next 6 or 7 years… cheap, no setup, no maintenance, zero computer knowledge required…
Fair enough, but also be aware of playing with subpar tech from launch day with it getting worse each year.
Also fair enough, but usually a small difference in graphical quality that has no impact on my ability to enjoy the game.

PC’s are always going to be a little ahead of consoles in terms of what kind of graphics they can crank out, but they only make major jumps when console generations also do. So realistically, if a shorter draw distance, a bit more aliasing and some not quite as high resolution textures arent the end of the world for you, a good console gives you at least the better part of a decade, without ever having to do anything to it.
I would not say the graphics diffences are small though. They indeed are two different animals, one of my video cards equals the price of a PS4 and the visual difference is significant (30fps vs +100fps). That said, consoles are certainly more affordable for a 5+ year run. The PS4 should be fantastic and will have some great games.

Got mine preordered!
You are indeed correct. Sometimes the graphics difference can be massive. Look at Crysis maxed out on PC and look at the shitty port they made available on the PSN. BUT if we are talking even remotely similar price points, the difference isnt going to be that big for quite some time.

Obviously if you want to poor 1500+ bucks into a solid gaming rig you can blow the doors off a console, but thats to be expected with that kind of investment.

How do you feel about the Blacklist mode on multiplayer Derek? I don’t think I like it as much as classic, feels a little too fast and cheap to me.

Honestly I do not do multiplayer.

Getting killed by 12 year old asian kids who talk shit the whole time just does not appeal to me.

Yeah, it’s pretty bad when you get matched up with people that have much higher skill than you on multiplayer games, I try to take advantage early on when nobody has really figured out what they’re doing yet. I really like that stealth is back firmly in the limelight with this though, I got through a couple more missions and the Ghost/Panther/Assault split really appeals to me. When I buy the game myself I might try to make a run with golden ghost score on the hardest difficulty, even though I always fail miserably at that kind of stuff.

These next gen consoles will have upgrades available to them that will be marketed to enhance gameplay. A sort of option that will be made out to be essential.

PC gaming is cheap because PC gamers pirate all of their games.

And then wonder why they dont get all the good console exclusives…

They will argue to the death that all console exclusives suck though, because WoW and Counterstrike are all you ever need. Whatever helps 'em sleep at night.

Anybody here play the Last of Us? I thought it was a great game. Some things get a little repetitive, but the story, graphics, and voice acting was great.

Definitely the game that makes worth getting a ps3. It’s a masterpiece, Naughty Dog never disappoints. It wasn’t even about the ending but all the adventure and everything that culminated on that sole moment.

I actually FINALLY picked this up last week. I know im strangely late to the party, especially considering that i loved Uncharted 2 and 3.

Overall its a great game but to be completely honest im a bit disappointed so far. Its not the 10/10 generational masterpiece that the critics made it out to be. The gameplay is pretty repetitive and i think it under-delivered in some aspects, such as the scrounging for supplies and crafting items/weapons for survival. These mechanics were much more basic and dumbed down than i thought they’d be.

Doesnt help that the controls are a bit complex and clunky, when things get really fucked up it can be easy to make mistakes because of the controller layout.

Also, i disagree that this game looks better than Uncharted 3. It looks fantastic, just not as good as Drake’s Deception.

Im about half way through the game right now, so there’s still time for my opinion to change, but right now im feeling like an 8.5-9 out of 10.

Do the Winter chapter and then complete the game and come back to us regarding your rating.

I admit I was MAJORLY disappointed with the game when you find out Ellie is immune cause I was like awww man it’s one of those stories, but dear lord the last 30% of the game is amazing.

I admire the repetitive nature of the game because I felt it helped immersion, same with the clunky aiming and crafting system.

Gotta agree some parts of the beginning stages are a bit tiresome, namely finding Bill.

Where abouts are you? 50%? Must have met Sam and Henry?

Get’s so much better after their part, I’m jealous of you playing it the first time lol.

I’ve never played splinter cell but I was (am) a massive fan of the metal gear solid series and I’m hoping the ps4 can continue the series and do it justice. Obviously the graphics etc will be a step up but I can’t shake the feeling that the earlier mgs’s, namely mgs2&3 (on the ps2), were so much more playable despite the older, less impressive graphics. Anyone else agree or is it just me?

MGS 4 was the most playable for me, had an easier interface and a solid structuring system with the chapters allowing a lot of re playability depending on what scenario/setting I fancied.

I think the second and third were the ones that have had the most innovation beyond the previous games, both in gameplay and story (aside from pre-Solid to Solid era). All of the games are brilliant, but the environments in the second and third have been some of the best of the series. My personal favourite is Snake Eater because of how strange the environment was and how many new mechanics it had to offer.

I enjoy that the new one is gunning for open world because it might be another change that bolsters the playability and earns this very high reviews. I’m on the lookout for faults with it somewhat, but I think Kojima will take the time to deliver on this one and not risk a failure when new technology has so much more to offer than with the previous games in their time.

This might be a spoiler alert, but…

yes, playing as Ellie in the winter time was great. It was a different experience and she had her own strength and weaknesses. It was easier to kill clickers because she always had a knife on her and you didn’t have to worry about using all of your shivs.

I also liked how it switched back and forth from playing as Joel and Ellie in the snowstorm.

Anyways, I agree with you that the last part of the game was really good.
