Eh, i dont give a damn about either of them so im not worried about it. Long as i can get ACIV, Killzone and Watch Dogs at launch, ill be ecstatic.
I’m all about BF4. I’m getting the Killzone launch bundle. It looks dirty. I might get ACIV, but I’m getting a tired of the series. I didn’t even finish 3.
Although BF4 will probably look pretty good on the PS4, I would recommend the PC version for a better/fuller experience. BF3 is a fantantic game.
I’m a console guy. I just don’t have the interest to build & update a PC. I’m sure it looks insane on a PC though.
Yea. I respect the PC guys.

We have had this discussion a ton. Some people like Pepsi some like Coke why is this so hard to understand?
You can buy ready-made PCs for less than you think. They dont need you to be a know-it-all about software updates either.

If you can find your way around a smart phone or a PC at work, you can operate a gaming PC.
Its not the knowledge, its the time.

I went to no maintenance cars, going to a no maintenance house.

My time spent on my business is better for everyone, but I still like to play games in my off time.

Same here.

Pre-ordered it from Walmart in their bundle and just got confirmation a few days ago that it will be here on the 20th of November.

I’m REALLY excited for inFamous: Second Son though. Played through the first two like the world was going to end. It’s the primary reason I chose to go with a PS4…among other reasons already laid out in the thread…

But I’ll probably eventually get an Xbox One, depending on it’s exclusives. Titanfall and the new Mirror’s Edge look sa-weet!

I can understand that somewhat, because the only thing I am really envious of right now is a company car.

Paid for by your company and whenever something is wrong, you just put it back, put your hands on your side , stare into infinity and pronounce majestically:

It is broken.

Get it fixed, get me a substitute.

^ This.

Plus I am happily married so I do want to have my time broken between wife/work.

So my small amount of free time I do not want spent on putting in a new motherboard or fan or RAM.

I want to get a dip of snuff, grab a glass of crown and diet coke, fire up the PS4 and fucking kill things. Period end of story.

 Orion reading your words, I felt like standing outside like superman and just saying what you wrote

You have no idea how much I find doing this therapeutic.

I feel like a fucking mechanic on drugs.

lol I have done it, but just not therapeutic anymore to me

Now playing Splinter cell doing one mission last night and took me an hour to stalk a bunch of fuckers and shoot them in the head and cut their throats.

That is therapeutic

Holy shiiiiit!!! Thank you! I totally forgot about Infamous!

I never got the chance to beat the first one though. Too busy.

I need to find the time to finish it before the end of the year

Fair enough, but also be aware of playing with subpar tech from launch day with it getting worse each year.

Serious question what is the breakdown of profit margin for PC vs PS vs Xbox?

Seems to be many more games out there for consoles than PC’s but I could be totally off base.

Also fair enough, but usually a small difference in graphical quality that has no impact on my ability to enjoy the game.

PC’s are always going to be a little ahead of consoles in terms of what kind of graphics they can crank out, but they only make major jumps when console generations also do. So realistically, if a shorter draw distance, a bit more aliasing and some not quite as high resolution textures arent the end of the world for you, a good console gives you at least the better part of a decade, without ever having to do anything to it.

EDIT: To go along with the “getting worse each year” thing, each year developers offset this by learning to optimize the new hardware and engines they are using to develop their games, so inevitably graphics will continue to improve for at least the first 3 or 4 years of a consoles life, even though the actual tech may not have evolved or been upgraded.

I believe console versions have less profit as game developers have to pay Sony/Microsoft their license fees. Someone was telling me about a large fee to put patches/updates on their servers as well. Probably the costs are offset with the mass number of copies they sell.

As far as total number of games for consoles vs PCs, your guess is as good as mine. Consoles are marketed in mainstream media much more, while PC games tend to build interest via the web, so it can be hard to tell.
Kakarat wrote:
How is it that Microsoft under-delivers?
Unless they plan on continuing to copy Sony for the rest of the console generation, pretty much everywhere.

Literally everything about Xbone is being done the way it is due to what Sony did.

No online requirement, no kinect requirement, including a headset, allowing for self-publishing of indie devs (which is still more restricted than Sony’s policy) used game trading…literally all of that was done specifically because Sony is doing it and so people were saying to hell with microsoft.

On top of that, you still have the additional pay-wall of XBLive, it still forces you to buy the (now unnecessary) kinect for a hundred bucks extra, they have failed to deliver or mislead with the promises they made that would make Xbox live a better value in the same way PS+ is, and its all but guaranteed that Sony will have the better exclusives and in most cases, the better graphics.

And even more, it baffles me that this thing is not only bigger than the PS4, but still has a power brick the size of a small laptop and requires AA batteries for its controllers. If Sony was able to do all these things better from the get go, and for less money, then i fully expect the trend to continue throughout this generation.

Once Naughty Dog’s new game comes out and games like The Order and Deep Down, PS4 will be cemented.

I would not say the graphics diffences are small though. They indeed are two different animals, one of my video cards equals the price of a PS4 and the visual difference is significant (30fps vs +100fps). That said, consoles are certainly more affordable for a 5+ year run. The PS4 should be fantastic and will have some great games.

Got mine preordered!

I love the splinter cell series. Probably one of my favorites

Yep mine too, its almost like the old ones, but the two missions I have done have been during the day. :-/

I loved the night games, I have yet to have to use the night vision.

Only complaint.

Blacklist turned out to be so much better than I thought it would, I really like that game. You played much of the story? I play it round my friend’s house and I’ve spent most of my time with Spies Vs Mercs, which I enjoy seeing.
