Bwahahaha!!
Microsoft felt the fucking heat!! I wonder what the pre-order ratio would have been compared to PS4’s.

Microsoft will wait until 2014/2015 and then change thier policy back. After all it’s just a software update.

Hahaha!
Just like the Southpark episode, the Facebook episode, with that kid no one wants to be friends with.

I suspect they will.
I was really excited about that new Xbox. They’ve ruined it for me. In the meantime, I’ll stick to my old box and my old unfinished games, Steam and PS4.
There’d better no be a new Halo game within the next two years. Or else I’m fucked.

Ha, they planned for everything with the onset of the next gen, if there’s one long-running Sony/Microsoft game series that people love that hasn’t had a new installation revealed at E3, it will show up a couple months from now at the latest.

Rumor has it that preorders were well below expectations.
Interesting tidbit i read today: PS4 is currently the 4th most popular product of 2013 on Amazon UK, Xbox One is 70th. From what i understand, the UK was a major market for Xbox 360.
Sony has to royally fuck up to even allow this generation to be competitive. DRM or not.
People also forget that many Xbox 360 users were PS2 owners who switched because they couldnt afford the ridiculous launch price-point for the PS3. This time around that is a non-issue, and Xbox is actually the pricier option. There is no doubt many 360 owners will convert back to Sony if forced to choose between one or the other.

This is my fear as well, and a large factor in why i still wont buy the box.
I would bet anything on it that M$ finds an excuse to institute some sort of new and oppressive DRM policy within 2 years of Xbone’s launch, at the latest.
or hell, maybe a new RROD will start plaguing the systems. Either way, their track record is too shitty for me to invest in their product.

Yup, I am literally the only person I know from school, work, university and family whose primary console is a PS3.
Anyone who is now going to buy an XB1 as a result of these changes are deluding themselves. You’re playing into the old trap.
Microsoft has no experience except for the phone market where its products get utterly thrashed in sales. When there is a better alternative, they suffer in sales. They have next to no experience in markets where they cannot dominate with a line of their products and lose badly with companies that offer great freedom with their hardware/software.
It is like Internet Explorer. Who here apart from a select “special” few would use IE?

Thats a good point i hadnt considered. From their phones to the Zune, if they cant clobber the market right out of the gates, they have failed miserably in the past.

Wow, then that really doesnt bode well for Xbone to be 66 places behind PS4.

And if I am correct, the US supreme court ordered MS to be broken up into three entities.
Now, if the Supreme Court of the US tells you to do stuff, you do it. However big corps like MS are not really the ones to toe the line.
Only bad news about PS4 is I might not be able to reserve an early system… Demand is creating a shortage of systems damn!!

I was just reading earlier that the PS4 has been selling so well that Sony essentially told gamestop to take as many preorders as possible, so check there.
Also, rumor has it that they Xbox One may offer a kinect-free SKU but at the same price?
WTF is that shit? Also, if this is true, they have blatantly lied to everyone. M$ has been pushing the always online and Kinect requirements because the system was supposedly built around this stuff and its totally critical to the way it works. But overnight they can just say “Yeah, they arent buying it” and turn it around?

Most people do not understand how this stuff works and will take MS for its word.
Maybe I’m reading into this, but if you go on Amazon and look at Battlefield 4 (PS4) it has a release date of 10/29/13 so wouldn’t the console have to be out by then?
Rumors started swirling months ago about a November release date, and now with the leaked image of Media Market signs with a release date of 11/13/13 going around, its all but certain.
lets not forget, rumors regarding these consoles back from well before their announcements proved to be very accurate. Its looking like this will be no different.
