Audio, I bought The Witcher Two, shit is very cool, especially the sword fighting. I just finished the tutorial and I only killed one guy. I rarely play with a mouse and keyboard so I really need to get used to this. Haha, does the game have a steeper than normal learning curve?
There is a steep learning/difficulty curve in the beginning but it eases up as you get farther into the story. After the first half dozen hours or so i dont recall dying very often at all.

Glad you’re liking it already, it is one of those games that keeps getting better and better the further you get into its story. If you’ve got a solid gaming rig it is also one of the best looking games out.

Its been a while since ive played that, now im gonna make sure i put it on my to-do list, especially considering at about half-way through the game you are forced to make a major decision that drastically changes the latter half of your play through, and i never explored the second option.
Alright, thanks! It is very different from the games I usually play. One issue I have is trying to remember all the controls for weapons slots, menus, etc. I tried looking for the a way to set the controls but couldn’t find it.

It is a lot to take in at the beginning but I should not have a problem adjusting.
The game really opens up in an awesome way once you get to the second act. Just keep at it, its a complex RPG.

Jesus, gone for the weekend and GAL turns into PWI. Here’s an idea, buy whatever system you want…PC > PS/Xbox, who really gives a fuck?

Some of you need to stop concerning yourselves with the new PS4 and concentrate on the weight you’re putting up at the gym.

Overheard some dudes talking about computer games at the gym a couple of months ago. I kind of lost it and annihilated them with a 15lb barbell. They’re still trying to clean up all the splatter stains.
I talk about computer games at the gym all the time with my 6’6" 300lb training partner :)
One swing of the barbell and both of you are finished.

Gaming seems like a waste of time honestly. You pick up the controller, turn on the damn thing and then essentially burn 2, 3 or how ever many hours of your free time. Is it worth it? Why? Or is it just addicting and you can’t stop even though you know you’d be better off if you did?
Lol nice; you’d go all Kirk Karwoski on our asses huh?

I’m glad you brought this up (I take no offense btw!). I enjoy discussing this topic.

Gaming is interesting in the stigma it attracts with some people. People rarely call playing chess or reading books a waste of time. What’s the difference? It’s simply an enjoyable way to spend free time. I don’t see why you would be better off doing something else. What would you do? Free time exists for a reason and is an important part of keeping yourself sane and balanced. People need to unwind.

Starcraft II makes chess look like fucking whack-a-mole. There are other games that do as well. You can find plenty of games with rich storyline, dialogue, text, and vocabulary on par with reading a book. I have learned a ton from video games. They’re not the “brain drains” people want to believe. Think about this. Who stereotypically plays the most video games? Nerds. Who are the smartest kids in school? Nerds. How bad can they be?

They’re also much more social than many people are willing to admit. I play solo games every now and then if they have a great story (sort of like reading a good book, which no one seems to have a problem with or accuse you of being a shut in for reading). But most often I have way more fun playing with my friends both in the same room and online.

I imagine you don’t play video games. If I may be very frank, the people who have a “problem” with video games are always the ones who never play them, and really, they have no idea what they’re talking about. Sort of like the people who complain about steroids, but in reality they don’t even know what a steroid is.

This is golden and in my experience 100% true.

This morning i read a few articles that should prove interesting regarding the PS4 vs Xbox One graphics we saw at E3.

Several PS4 developers have come out and confirmed that their E3 demos, and many, if not all other E3 demos that they were aware of, were running off the PS4 development kits.

On the other end, there have been several sources claiming MS was running off high end windows 7 PC’s with Nvidia 780 graphics. This is problematic because not only is it more powerful than the Xbox One, but the Xbox One runs on a windows 8 based OS and uses AMD graphics. Really interested to see some games running off the actual console now. Also, in Sony’s case, nice to know that not everything at E3 is all smoke and mirrors. Makes me confident as a buyer to know that Sony is confident in its product as well.

The one thing that concerns me is this PS4 launch date of 12/31. I assume this is a place holder date, but Sony is going to lose their momentum if this doesn’t get released at the same time as Xbox One if not sooner. People are way to impatient to wait an extra month or two for next gen and parent’s don’t want to give their kids Christmas gifts on Jan 1.

They havent confirmed anything yet, its purely a placeholder. They have to use the farthest date possible to make sure they dont piss off all the people who preordered incase the date is announced to be later.

Im assuming itll be November as well. That was what the initial (strong) rumors suggested, and theres no way they are going to wait until AFTER Christmas to release this.

I’d bet my preorder on it that itll be out within the first half of December at latest. Wonder how long they will make us wait to find out.

I gotta think it’ll be pre-COD: Ghost. So what 2nd week of November?

Thats similar to what im thinking. My money would definitely be on it releasing before the end of November near the release of CoD, AC4 and Watch Dogs.

Is thre a minimum to pre-order the PS4?

Not sure, i preordered on Amazon which requires you to pay in full.

Im pretty sure at gamestop you dont have to pay in full to preorder a console, i dont know what the minimum deposit is though. For games its only 5 bucks so its probably relatively cheap.

Did Amazon actually charge you? Both Amazon’s and Gamestop’s website say the charge won’t occur until shipment, which follows game pre-order rules.

“Billing does not occur until shipment is processed.
Pre-order low price guarantee. More info.”

Amazon never chargers for a pre-order until it actually ships. I’ve pre-ordered stuff through them before and then ended up cancelling it with no problems at all.

That’s what I thought, but wasn’t sure. I’ve seen pictures online of people with ore-order receipts. They paid like $150 bucks. It was for Xbox though.

I’m basically trying to convince the wife to pre-order for Christmas. She doesn’t want to if we have to pay for it now :frowning:

Your first mistake was placing your wifes approval above your PS4 on your list of priorities.
