Plastic Bag Method to Put on Knee Sleeves Allowed in Competition?

My knee sleeves tend to get really tight after I wash them and really hard to get on once I’ve worked up a sweat. I see how hard it is for other people to generally put on knee sleeves like old SBDs or TItan Yellow Jackets.

Is this method with the plastic bag to slide the knee sleeve on legal in raw powerlifting?

Don’t know about any other federation and don’t know how your national affiliate handles it, but this is from the IPF rulebook:
“The Technical Controller shall also reject any knee sleeves that have been put on the lifter with the assistance of any other person or method, such as the use of plastic slidings, the use of lubricants and so on.”

FUCK!

No biggie. Just compete in another fed

Why put up with bullshit?

Why? If you live in the US, USPA is a much better option and has lots of meets too. There are a whole bunch of other fed too, the last one I would go with at the moment is USAPL or anything affiliated with the IPF. The people running those feds are totally fucked.

Knee sleeve hack. Use knee socks.

I generally don’t have difficulty but when it’s humid, the spd sleeves are impossible and stick to everything because they are so long. I lift in knee socks. I pull the sleeves over the socks which allows them to slide much more easily. Then I pull the top of the sock out because they can’t touch.

Yes, former IPF officials teaching us how to bend the rules! You are one of the good ones.

Is there a rule against wearing plastic knee socks?

In my immediate area, I most often have to travel pretty far for USPA meets (far enough to have to book a hotel). There are exceptions and I’m volunteering at one soon, but most of the events within city limits are USAPL

At least you have an excuse. But “most of the events” still implies that there are others. I used to compete in CPU (the Canadian IPF affiliate) for the same reason but now that there are other options around here I’m done with them.

I don’t know about bending the rules. I couldn’t get a large pair of SBD sleeves up my legs in the humidity we’re having right now. Winter is fine though.
