Planet Fitness: Lawsuit Waiting to Happen?

Hey RV…maybe you could write the book about Bride of Frankenstein and call it Disparate Housewives.

Nards… the unabashed cleverest motherfucker on these boards.

Yeah, there are a couple of other dudes who try to pull it off. But they don’t quite make it.

No, I’m not naming names.

Thanks. That was really sweet and such a great compliment. I mean that.

You see…this is why you should join facebook! ( I made that line up about a month ago and used it on facebook)
I recall you saying before that you weren’t on facebook and wouldn’t join. If you join I could be your only friend there. I dare you! It’ll be like Lay’s though…you can’t stop at one friend. I don’t mean eating them.

No, it’s not.

You can’t discriminate against a “protected class” based on a person being (or percieved to being) part of a protected class.

The protected classes are: sex, race, religion, national origin, veterans, sometimes age, and sometimes disability.

I suppose you could find out if this had a disparet impact on men and possibly veterans, but it would be a stretch.
This is your first post on T-Nation, and you already have a spelling error. It’s supposed to be “perceived”, not “percieved”. Welcome to T Nation, asshole.
I gave him a pass on that one, as it is correct, if used in the latin context. I don’t want to be overbearing. He’s still a fucking asshole though.
You missed “disparate.”

Fucker can BS on a bit o’ Latin but can’t quote properly? SHAME!
Their should also be a comma between “disparate impact on men” and “and possibly veterans”. You people are illiterate buffoons if you didnt’ catch that one. Fucking assholes,
DB, please know that some of us understood what you were trying to do. That you did not toil in vain.

Your post, this one, filled me with hope. Hope. Not just hope for change. No. Not some ephemeral wispy abstraction of an idea that we might change this doomed thread from yet another eye-clawingly repetitive thread about Planet Fitness vs. Internet Bluster. Hope for something real. That someone like you, someone who dared to dream, had started something that together we might finish. Hope that others might see, and understand. That they might hear your solecistic call. The call of Strunk and White reimagined in glorious, subtle parody.

Alas, it seems perhaps, not unlike the original poster of this thread, your genius was meant for a different people. A different age.

do they have an excerpt on their contract that 400 years old vampires are banned as bodybuilders are from PF?

Believe it or not, I tend to give guys like RV and clip11 the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it’s my humanistic side wanting to believe, but I honestly tend to sympathize with them and think maybe they are real people with real ideas that are not so much wrong as they are weird.

Look at the post count of this post and then look at the time stamp on the first post.I watch these guys get dogpiled like this as soon as they post something that another poster could have put up that would have received a completely different reaction and might have resulted in a pretty good discussion, but the T-Nation mob already has their pitchforks and torches and enough gasoline to burn down the farmhouse so the thread turns into a circle jerk.*

That may be what has been prompting me to issue these requests. I honestly, and I mean this, want to see both clip11 and RV post up photos of themselves holding ‘T-Nation haterz I pwn you!!1!’ type messages. It would be that clench your fist and say, “Yes!” feeling you get like at the end of Revenge of the Nerds.

I guess another reason I sort of take both of them seriously is the they both seem like they’d be pretty nice guys in real life. Unlike, for example, that MethodMan character whom I thankfully have not seen around lately.

I’m trying to give these guys a very easy way to shut down some very unfair treatment. Both of them already have “their” face either in their avatar or hub,so there should be absolutely nothing barring either of them from quickly and easily confirming to all of us that they are, indeed, who and what they say they are.

Unless, of course, I am wrong…

*Keep in mind I used the conditional tense. For example this thread really does deserve no serious discussion, particularly in light of the other 642 PF bashing threads that already exist on this site.

Like, 400 years ago?
Well, people 400 years ago wouldn’t have had the internet or even porn, so they had a LOT more free time and had to think of ways to fill up that free time. One of the activities they discovered to make use of a large amount of this extra time was in the creation of mind-bendingly rigid and meticulous rules of grammar and completely arbitrarily fixing the spelling of words. They then set about establishing these rules as sacrosanct by writing an innumerable amount of these things called “books,” among others, which people back then used to “read,” and sometimes even, “study.”

So, yes, essentially, had DB posted that subtly ingenious bit of “inveigling of the knaves,” on the internet 400 years ago, this thread might have taken a decidedly different turn.

Alas, along with etiquette, proper punctuation, spelling, grammar, and worst of all acumen have gone the way of the dodo. A bird I wouldve loved to own.

Dear Mr. Cortes:

We regret to inform you.

So I said, “No, Chic-Fil-A-Lady, I don’t want a breakfast biscuit, I want the chicken on a bun.”

…and she said, “Ok”.

No. They just don’t invite them in. Bodybuilding bloodsuckers tend to shy away from PF anyway -too many mirrors.

Dear Mr. TheBodyGuard,

Thank you for your timely response.

In this case, I am of a decidedly scientific mind. I am open to being proven wrong.

Unfortunately, it’s a lot easier for them to prove they are who they are than for me to prove they are not.

Please henceforth refer any religious innuendos or references to (il)logic to my office:

Well its obviously not you. Cause you know PF makes millions why and the hell would they need or have a legal council. No way they looked at this shit themselves with there own legal council no way why and the fuck would they do that. Why spend a few thousands dollars no point in losing any profit for some silly thing like run this through legal before we go with it. Thats just stupid, business people dont think like that come on man.

I posted this very quick and easy challenge to clip11. Take a camera phone (who doesn’t have one?) snap a quick pic of yourself right now holding a piece of paper that says T-Nation RV haters go fuck yourselves or whatever, slam it into your computer and shut up all the haters.

Tellingly, clip11 has not responded to this request.

Will you?
Several people asked him that on the last thread…it’s been well established that RV is NOT the fellow in his avi…

Carry on.
