Jimmy T, QT, Barry here and it’s deadlift day. I’m going to go scare the youngsters. Have a great weekend and lift heavy.

I haven’t been posting because this past week was so hot that I did some BS workouts and that’s it, nothing to really speak about. Hope you are still making gains Jimmy!
I am also getting lazy about posting since the Nats are long gone…do you want me to end this and start a new one when I start training in earnest for another contest???

QT,
I think you should keep the thread going. You are still training, and I assume your goal is to hit the Nationals in '07.That is my goal!In fact I’m considering going to a NASA regional in september to test my platform lifting.Yes I am making gains. My last bench workout was strong
1x8x205 2x3x225 pause reps. Shoulder is doing fine!Today my deadlifts were great. Sumo is a bit different.1x10x315
1x5x365 I had 10 in me. I’m making the adjustments and I wide stance squat, so it should tie in nice.Keep posting when you want bro.I’ll keep in touch too.TRAIN HARD! Jimmy T

Barry,
Did you scare the youngsters? TRAIN HARD! Jimmy T

This past week worked up to a heavy, un-spotted single in all three lifts, done on Mon/Wed/Fri. My body is really sore, especially from DL’ing 3 times this week, gonna take weekend off from lifting and just jog/walk with dogs if not too hot on Sat and Chain drag on Sun

Jimmy T,
Turned 51 last Thursday. The kids don’t really know what to think. Found an awesome old black iron gym. If you ever get to Missouri, let me know.
Barry

Hey guys,I was a power lifter about 20 years ago, nothing special just a class two guy.I recently started to look after my fitness again and lost 65lbs.Im so inspired that im making a come back and going to do a meet as a master.

Please keep the thread up,ive been lurking for a while and it is inspiring for me to see somebody my age do serious lifting.Best of luck in your training.

My soreness lasted until Wed of last week, so I have been doing nothing except bodyweight dips, pull-ups/chin-ups, push-ups with feet elevated, push-ups on handles suspended by chain from power rack, and crunches with a green band across chest.
I will never do the 3lifts 3 times in one week heavy like thqat again!!!
I am contemplating another PLing contest in the Fall. I will start training in earnest for it Labor Day weekend; until then I will continue with the bodyweight exercises and up my mileage for walking/jogging. I have cut back the chain dragging to only once per week, BUT now I am dragging backwards 30-35 minutes and dragging forwards, 20-25 minutes. I rest when I am fatigued, but I keep the time interval to less than 60 secs.
Since there is interest in keeping the thread going, I will continue it. Train hard , smart and safe!

Hey! Just wanted to say nice thread. It caught my eye mainly because good ol’ Killeen was mentioned- I hail from there. Anyways, keep up the training - I hope I can lift like that when I’m your age.
