Things seem to be progressing/regressing as usual…my neck feels great in spite of all it’s been through, including biopsies of 3 thyroid nodules last week(benign)…I have some nerve traction-like pain, especially at night, when I bend my elbow, it worsens and travels all the way down into my fingers. May be getting another MRI to see if anything has changed that might be causing this. I have been going to Physical Therapy 2x/week when my pain is bearable…been doing a lot of little things at home as well, keeping to the 25lb restriction…I tried to do a pull-up and a dip today, and failed miserably at both…have a lot of work ahead of me, even though I exceeded the restriction, everything held together, I’m just weak as heck!!!
25lb restriction LIFTED!!! Have begun to “train” again. Workouts are purposely unorganized and unorthodox but I’m starting slowly and reacquainting myself with the movements and getting ideas about poundages I can start training with…will keep you posted as things progress. Take care my brothers and sisters in Iron!
QT,
Congratulations and good luck.

Great news! Sounds like it’s been an ugly year or so for you, but hopefully this means things are starting to turn around.
Soryy it took me a couple of days to read this. Art. Outstanding news. So what does this mean? Are you relatively “healed” or are you working through your limitations. I knew all them candles I was lighting would do some good.
Back to posting workouts on HT’s thread!!! Check 'em out. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY BROTHERS & SISTERS IN IRON !!!
THANKS HARRY!!!
Glad to hear you are back. There’s no better feeling.
And you’re posting on HT’s thread because . . .?
Funny question but I’ll take a stab at answering it. Way back & I can’t exactly remember when, there were 3 old farts that consistantly posted on the Over 35 Forum. We all posted our workouts individually, but were constant visitors to each others’ threads. So, in a sense we were posting the same thing twice. We put our collective heads together and since HT’s thread was the oldest, we decidied to post our workouts on his thread.
Personally, Mike and all the other regular visitors, are the best training partners there ever can be! Even though we are geographically separated, we share our present and past “stories”, our workouts, and encouragement and suggestions on how to improve. Of late, most of us have sustained some damage/battle scars etc. & we share our dilemmas with each other…on more than one occasion, helpful hints, pearls of wisdom, etc has helped us through our individual injuries/surgeries. I find Mike to be a real KooL guy and would watch his back anytime…we share our stories on Facebook, as well…posting twice again!
Welcome to our group…between all of us, we probably have 100 years of lifting experiences beween us, all with slightly different backgrounds, but our common thread seemed to be trying to stay stong as we aged. I’m sure Mike(HT) would not mind if you visited his thread often, but if you feel funny about it, just ask him. Good luck with your training and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Just for shits and giggles, decided to revisit an old thread of mine here. It’s been 10 years since the last post; lots of changes in my life since then. I’ve had some setbacks…multiple major surgeries, 2nd marriage ended in divorce, suicide attempt and my CIDP diagnosis. PLing was a big part of my life, emphasis on the “was”! I have lost a lot of sensory and motor function in my lower and upper extremities from my CIDP. I fall a lot. Squatting and DLing out of the question - dangerous! I can still BP because I can lay down on a bench, but my numbers are way down as my strength has been impaired. I will fight hard not to make comparisons to the past. I can only attempt to make a better version of myself today.
That’s all any of us can do. Sorry to hear about your situation. Just know we are all rooting for you to keep on, keeping on!
Art? That you brother? Been a while. Lot of shit going on in your life. I remember when you had all the neck work done. I kinda come and go here now. Glad to hear from you. Just do what you can.
