I forgot to tell you guys about my buddy trying to pick up the 360 stone. What a hoot. One of these days I’m headin’ for the stones. A kid asked me if I competed, I told him anybody that has this bad of form shouldn’t be allowed. When the hand heals I’m going backwards. I’m going from the rack and lowering the weight to eventually get to the floor. When the callous came off it was the 3rd rep of 605 and I had a ton in the tank. I know I can do that from the floor. The senior olympics in STL is the same weekend as INDY. I wanted to compete in the curl and leg press but I can’t miss INDY. Weird events, but I think I couldv’e won both. Train hard and GOD bless.

What happened to gym etiquette(I hope I spelled that right). Yesterday I’m at my little gym and a new child comes in. At this gym they think I’m all nuts. The squat rack isn’t attached to the floor if that’s a clue but there are some serious lifters that come in. Art, sorry about the length of this but you and HT, Jimmy T will appreciate it. The kid comes in and is jumping around the benches that the locals are using without asking. I’m getting pissed but I’m not the gym police. Finally I can’t stand it. He starts doing pullovers with a 100# db. Jimmy will love this because he knows where this is going. I ask him if we can share the bench and he says yes in a pompous way. I get the ez curl bar and load a couple of 45 on it.
I ask if he would like to work in and he said yes. YIPPPEEEE I jacked it up to 115 on each side did a set of 12 and I said if he needs a spot to let me know. Sorry but today another child is teaching leg workouts. Did zerchers for warmups up to 225. No racks available so I’ll cut this short. This gym only has 22 45s and 2 100s
After a few sets and I’m running out of weight I ask the teacher if he would like to workin leg press and he said yes. Another jackass so I put 830 on and did 20. It smoked me but he shrunk. Wouldn’t even talk to me. Welcome to PL training for the Masters

Barry - I’m spoiled! I have the garage pretty much to myself when I train…the local kids and my sons pretty much stay out unless they’re helping and/or spotting/loading. I FEEL for you!!! I used to go a a real hard core gym in Long Island 1x/month to squat heavy back in the day…called Iron Island & owned/run by Ken Leistner 7 Ralph Raiola. Ken had York plates made up with the Iron Island logo…if you did not put them back in the racks with the logo facing out,you were permanently barred from the gym. Ken prorated the balance of your membership fee and told you to “make like horseshit, and Hit The Road!” And you were gone never to return! The place was spotless! Even the toilets/showers - everything you could eat off of! Mostly APF guys trained there, so I would go once a month to try nag hang with them…in my dreams! Most every other gym I’ve been to, if you get up and get a drink of water from the fountain, your bench, and bar and weights are history! The garage is my sanctuary!

Need to work on mY shoulders. I can almost close grip what I can bench. The children with a good bench can’t come close to my close grip. Art, my numbers are so goofed up. Believe me I’m not complaining, I’m blessed just in a weird way. My callous is back and daring me to pull it off again. It looks like a frigin headlight. PRs in 4 and 6 weeks: rack amd floor.
