Pittsburgh Gym Scene

I’m moving to Pittsburgh in a few weeks. Any gym advice from the locals?

I’m doing online searches, but I’m only finding “fitness center” type places… and we all know those won’t do…

Looks like I’ll be moving to the east side (oakland/shadyside).

type in “decent gym Pittsburgh” under the search function…

Check this place out, they have OL platforms there and recently had an OL meet.

I started going there a few weeks ago. Had to lay off briefly, but thats beside the point.

It is a realy good place, but a good bit out of the way from Oakland.

I’m in the south hills, and not too familiar with whats available in that side of town. I can check around though.
There has to be at least a couple close by.

I go to martial arts and sports complex, it’s a great gym. SkyzykS, where in the south hills do u live? MASC is owned by former steeler Craig Wolfley. The website is pretty junky but here it is anyway www.masc73.com

I live in Bethel Park, just a couple of miles from there.

Last time I was there was a couple of saturdays ago. I was over on the platforms training with the oly lifters under Coach Alexs supervision. If you were there, you might remember- I have realy bad form, very slow, try hulking the weight up, and usualy turn purple in the process.

I should be back shortly. I just had some ART done and need a bit of rehab on my shoulders.(weak lower traps, scapular tipping)
I realy like the training there. Coach Alex is very good.

So, who are you?

I noticed a few guys who used site specific terms like “mangina”, and a couple others.
