I have been ridiculously lucky. I started BJJ because some guy came and did a demo at a gym I trained at. They then started giving twice weekly into classes at my gym (included in the gym membership fee).

That guy just so happened to be Jude Samuel, Black Belt Instructor at Roger’s Academy in London (he was Brown at the time.) After a few months I decided to start training at the main Academy as well, within 2 months I had dropped my gym membership and was full time training with Roger.

When I moved out here to Leon I was worried that I wouldn’t find anywhere to train but as luck would have it, the only gym here is run by a good friend of Royce’s who is the head of the Network for the country and also a sparring partner for Royce when Royce preps for fights.
