Hmmmm.
Rather underwhelmed, the shots seemed really flat and that fucking lightsaber was cringeworthy.
Always great to see the Falcon though.
There’s gotta be more to the lightsabre than they’re showing. Having those two side prongs would make it impossible to wield as you’d stab yourself or cut your own hands off at the wrist. Maybe a force field or projectiles or something.
I’m totally behind the idea that Force users are the battery for their own lightsabers. Explains the difference in color, design and use.

Nope. Han Solo - Hoth. Cut open a Tonton… And then there’s General Grevious.

Yeah, I personally don’t really like that idea.

An advanced lightsaber model, then. Like a Jedi version of Mjonir. Personalized to the owner and mentally controlled.

Yeah, that’s a bit better. Sort of fits with Sith stuff especially, like the one portrayed they would be red for passionate and somewhat unstable due to their emotions - or some shite like that.
That was pretty much my train of thought. Any Force-sensitive individual could use a lightsaber, but the color and intensity would change with the user. So a Sith could wield a fallen Jedi’s saber but it would glow red.
I thought the color had something to do with the crystal used?
*Not a huge Star Wars geek, but I’ve always liked the books and most of the movies.
That’s correct. I just dig the idea of a lightsaber having some internal connection to the user and isn’t just an independent construct (probably goes back to my memories of those Kenner figures having lightsabers that came out of their arms).
Anyway, a Sith broadsword is no more wrong than Sam Jackson asking for and getting a purple saber just because he liked the color.
