I sure hope so. I spent YEARS lifting just for that.

I know that’s not who he was talking about. That being said, RV never provided evidence that he was anything but a fat guy with a shitty webcam. no lifting vids, no shot of anything below the top of his chest. The fact that he provided a second picture just means he’s probably a human.

Legit?
LOL.
And the guy who claimed the incline press was more swole than any of the people who ranted for months about it so not exactly on the same level.
I personally don’t care what someone claims unless it is truly some ridiculous claim made by someone who doesn’t look like they even lift.
I don’t chase guys around who look like freaks compared to most on the site because of a 495lbs incline press claim…but to each his own.

He wanted to get caught out.

It was a poster named Cephalic_Carnage.

Not to stir up this argument again, but even if you look like stan efferding, claiming a 495 incline bench for 15 reps is as ridiculous as any of the claims OP made. Especially when youre in your 40’s and claim to be natural.
And when was there controversy over cephalic_carnage? Some how i missed that.

I think he was like a few guys on here: Big, good deal of size, a tad delusional about his BF%. I think he was different then this youngster54321. I don’t think RV was trying to ‘trick’ or bullshit anyone on here, I think he honestly believed everything he claimed.
There’s people on this site that are like that, but I think RV was just 15 degrees weirder then the rest.

you dont care what someone claims so long as there not small? why do people write dumb shit like this.
strong logic! small guy claims something ridiculous must be false, big guy claims something equally ridiculous nah its alright he can claim what he wants.
i dont know what the people thought when c_c was around. anybody else making the claims he did with as many posts as he did would have been asked for pictures or vids to back up there claims. although he was a good poster i just find it funny that on here you can claims just about anything and have half the forum believe you.

C_C wasn’t clueless, but he way overstepped his bounds. That’s the way it goes when you take advice for advanced competitors from other boards, and try to apply it to beginners without really knowing what you’re doing. Him and Sento and Scott M screwed a lot of new guys by giving them the impression that they somehow didn’t need to train rear delts, because they would be great once they hit that 700lb deadlift. Struggling with your chest? No problem, just bench 405x10, you’ll be golden. lol

I must have missed what happened with cephalic carnage. If he is the guy I am thinking about, he was a highly respected member for a long time. From Germany or somewhere, right?
I remember this coming up before (the fact he had no pictures or anything up) and he was still vigorously defended because he obviously had enough knowledge to show that he “walked the talk” without needing to prove it with tangible evidence. That was a couple years ago though, so something changed?
Oh yeah and LOL @ the OP. Tool.

honestly i dont agree with one must be jacked to give good advice.
lol profx in the other thread asked me about posting pictures because apparently he and some others where troubled by me giving out advice with no pics or vids.
yet on the other you had c_c who posted here for years while making large claims with no proof to back them up. he was never called out on it.
its a fucking joke. but its alright when im swole i can claim anything i want and i dont have to prove anything.

One should be bloody worried about taking advice from someone unproven, in ANY field. Which is why it’s so weird when these little internet cults spawn, following nothing but a screen name.

I’ve actually noticed a correlation that people who aren’t big or strong tend to think being big and strong isn’t necessary to give advice on achieving those goals, while those that are think it’s critical.
Food for thought I suppose.
Wait, so was there a specific controversy that happened with C_C? I dont remember ever seeing anything like this, and i check these boards pretty often. I remember when lewhitehurst or whatever his name was made some outlandish claims, but not C_C and Sento.
It was Lewhitehurst that claimed the 495 incline for 6-15. I don’t remember any ridiculous claims from C_C. That guy was one of the most helpful posters to ever post on this site since I’ve been visiting it.
It took me a while to realize C_C was a short form for a screen name and not just a pair of eyes.
OP needs to do Starting Strength and he will have a 400+ bench in no Time. DO IT.
