Wasn’t sure where to post this, as it deals with nutrition and exercise. anyways, here goes.
At my gym we’re doing a spin-off of the Biggest Loser as a competition, where there are 3 people per group with a trainer and lasts 12 weeks.
The winner will be based upon % of bodyweight + % BF lost.
We did this to help level the playing field.
Now, I’m wondering if this is still limited, since those that are in worse shape (didn’t exercise, obese, eat like crap), will see faster and greater results.
For example, I have one girl in my group:
149 lbs @ 31.4% BF , so obvioulsy she can make great progress in 12 weeks.
There is another lady in another group (if I had to guess 5’6" 275 lbs), not sure of BF, but in 2 weeks she’s lost 15 lbs.
Even taking into account % of body weight, she’s still ahead of one my group member.
I’m hoping the other lady’s progress will slow.
Any input here, I’m sure it’s too late to make changes to level the playing field, I’m just starting to think we should have thought this through more.
think it’s possible that with the addition of adding in the amount of BF lost, will help my situation? I’m thinking it will only go towards helping the other lady as well.
Guess I might have to get into some water loss near the end of the contest, lol.
