Jump Rope for 15 minutes. I just didn’t have anything today. All my sets were crap and I just couldn’t get anything going. Can’t wait till I can get past this and start pushing some bigger weight again…
Rack Lock outs - 315x10, 2x5@405, 5x5@315 *Triceps felt funny so I backed it off
Incline Close grip - 3x15@135
Cross bench pull over - 3x10@60
Skull Crushers - 40, 50, 60 x10
Push Downs - 3x10@100
Behind the neck DB - 3x10@25
Band stretches, all different ways.
Couple of high points here I found encouraging. I’m under 260 for the first time in 2 years and the arm held up well in the higher weight. I think I will start to work in the 8-10 rep range for the next 6 weeks or so.
Really liked your post on HT’s thread, and it’s good to see you posting again. Two weeks off…I’d go insane (more insane) if I did that right now. To give your injury time to heal, or personal stuff? Doc
Yeah I actually plan these “deload” weeks to keep me hungry. Normally it is just one week but I got into playing Team Fortress Two and it kind of got extended to two weeks. LOL, that damn game keeps me up all hours of the night!
Jump Rope - Two Feet, 15 Second on 15 seconds rest x5, Left Foot same, Right Foot same, Cross over same
Suicides x2
Crunches, Saxon Side bends, weighted Leg Lifts.
About 45 minutes worth of foot drills. This year I want to do two things with Football. Improve my conditioning and improve my foot speed. My plan is to make up my age by being in way better shape than the 20 somethings…HAHA yeah right…But an old dude can dream, eh?
I think I hurt it last May. I injured it in the weight room with Heavy DB presses and then when we went outside for Semi-Pro Football practice, I pushed a guy and the triceps came off. Being a dumb ass I thought it was just a pull and kept playing for another two weeks before I sought help. The surgeon immeaditaly scheduled the surgery for the following Monday. It was completely torn and because of the time that went by they were not sure I would regain full mobility.
As it turns out my Surgeon kicks major ass and I have full mobility. It still hurts from time to time, takes longer to warm up, but it is coming along. I had two set backs during my Rehab that were both self induced or I think I would be farther along. Hey thanks for asking! I am planning on playing again this Spring and then getting back into Power lifting.
a1. Behind the neck DB Extension - 3x10@25
a2. Flat tates - 3x10@25
15 Minutes of Jump Rope for foot agilities.
I really feel I have turned a corner. I won’t use the arm as an excuse for not working hard in the gym anymore. It really held up well today! I may have to kill this thread now and just start a training thread…
HAHA Yeah that was a good one. These days it more running and training for spring football. I am going to start lifting heavy again right before winter work outs start in Feb…
