Strong workout. Looks like the repair job on the tri is holding up pretty good. Question? On you Close grip bench are you going all the way to the chest or stopping where the tris quit and the pecs take over? With your numbers your going to have to start looking around for some competition outside the football arena.

My close grips go all the way to the chest but I don’t take a real close grip. Index finger on the smooth. More of med grip I suppose when I take a real close grip where my hands are touching it puts to much pressure on my wrists. I would like to get back to a power lifting comp at the end of the year. I sure would like to hit 500 bench in a comp. I have done it in the gym but you know gym numbers don’t count…lol

Starting to get the feel for these. I’m still slow coming out of my stance but feeling much more stable now! I hit 485 in my last bench meet. That was a while ago, I sure would like to get that 500 this year!

Speed Day! All sets done with no rest between a1 and a2 and only 30 sec rest between super sets. Also I was trying a protagonistic vs antagonistic approach today. Basically if I pushed it then I pulled it.

A1. Speed bench - 10x3@135 with 3 grips
A2. Wide grip Pull ups w/h purple band assist. 5x5 then on the second 5 Close grip Chins 5x5

Seems like the Spring weather is highly motivating to ya! It’s nice to finally have some sun and temps greater than 40’s! I never realized your BP prowess. When you decide on a contest, let me know, I’d surely like to come and give you hand and watch & learn!
