Peter Capaldi as Doctor Who

Not sure there is huge interest round these parts but wanted to enquire what fans think of the new series (season?) with Capaldi…

I’m liking him so far. Everything feels massively improved over last season.
Not sure how David Tennant feels about having to hide his accent for 4 years though…

I felt like the Clara-Matt Smith dynamic was weak last season though I’m a little wary so far as the doctor seems pretty nonchalant about people dying-where any of the other three (new series) would have mourned and at least acknowledged the sorrow-Tennant has quite the brogue

I don’t watch the show but it’s neat that he was in World War Z as a W.H.O doctor.

I read recently that Freema Agyeman said she was hoping the next Doctor would be openly gay. WTF? Who cares about the sexual proclivities of a character in a science fiction show? Crazy shit. I can’t understand how these people’s minds work. Personally, I stopped watching Doctor Who when Tom Baker left. I don’t like any of the new ones.

Sex-I assume you’ve given a few episodes of the new series a watch but there are some definite gems sprinkled throughout-if you are so inclined
9th doctor: father’s day, dalek, doctor dances (two parter) 10th doctor: blink, family of blood (two parter), midnight, silence in the library (two parter), girl in the fireplace 11th doctor: vincent and the doctor, the girl who waited, 50th anniversary special

As for being gay-I think it would feel pretty forced and I agree with you that I don’t watch the show to see who the Doctor is into (pun intended)

For 11 I’d also throw in “The Pandorica Opens/ The Big Bang” and “The Snowmen”.
And I agree, we don’t need a gay Doctor, but rather everyone’s favorite bisexual Scottish Time Agent should definitely make a return at some point. As soon as John Barrowman finishes up on Arrow, of course.

I’ll take your advice and give it watch. Thanks.
