Hypocrites

Yeah, I don’t know if you watch Penn and Teller’s Bullshit! (don’t know if it’s even still on), but a few years back they did an episode on PETA, and said some pretty sick shit like that.

laughs hysterically

In terms of organizations that are “good” for animals, PETA is not really one of them. They also call for the end to pet ownership. While I can KIND OF see their point of view with birds…this would essentially eradicate all the cats and dogs in the world kept as pets. Good times.

i hear they eat the other 3%

I remember that episode. First thing that came to mind when I read the title of this thread.

I hate those people.

I hate PETA…I do however support the Army of the 12 Monkeys.

I talked to a few PETA kids in college, one of the questions I always asked was what would they do with all of the domesticated animals on the earth if they got their way. Their answer was always “we’ll just set them free and let them run wild.” Which means 99% would be dead within a week. Smart people.

Wait, if they want to set animals free from ownership, then why are they trying to have people adopt them? And if no one adopts them, why did they kill them and not just set them free?

They’re young, and idealistic, which means they don’t spend a lot of time thinking things through.

or thinking at all

I don’t support PETA in any way, and I’m not saying this story doesn’t have any truth to it, but it only takes one mouse click on that site to find out that “Consumer Freedom” is a “coalition of restaurant owners, food companies and consumers.” Maybe not the least biased source on the 'net.

Just something to think about…

“You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed”, said the fox.

Anyway, I hate PETA. I mean, really, if I were to set my cat free outside, he’d die. I’ve spoiled his fat ass for 9 years. Hell, even my python would die if I abandoned it. He’s gotten lazy too, with me killing his rats for him.

Perhaps PETA devotees have good intentions, but the org itself is a load of crap, and setting animals free, as PETA wants, would be beyond stupid.

To be fair, PETA doesnt actually condones the setting free of pets like the Animal Liberation Front (These are the people who fire bomb animal testing labs…PETA sponsors them however). I believe their position is that we should no longer breed pets. Meaning let the “pets” we have now die and no longer reproduce.

Here is their position as posted on their own web page:
