Personal Experiences with Managing E2

Hi all,

When I first started back on this TRT journey 7 months ago there was a lot of strong opinions from a member that got removed. It derailed every time E2 was raised as a discussion.

Can I ask we stick to the question in discussion with personal experiences rather than this descending into an argument about studies…

Q1) Whats the most out of range E2 you’ve had?

Q2) what sides have you noticed when your E2 is raised?

Q3) Have you used a small dose ai before? I say small dose as its pretty common knowledge now you can crash e2 and start a rollercoaster by taking too much.

Q4) if the above is yes- have you had long term success with ai still in your protocal- if so could you tell us about whT your protocal is? Let’s call long term being stable for over a year.

I don’t understand the purpose of a numbers discussion when everybody responds differently. I could answer each of those questions but that’s how ‘I feel’. You may be different. That was the problem with the prior member, he spoke in absolutes.

A1) I’ve never been above the top range, don’t recall, but never had high E2 issues.
A2) None
A3) Yes I’ve used as much as 1mg/wk and as little as .125mg 2x a week
A4) No, I had bad sides like anxiety, ED, and low HDL from using AIs

My thoughts… Give yourself a normal dose of testosterone and let your body do what your body does. Don’t use an AI. If you are running TRT plus I still don’t see the point of raising both TT/E2 and then lowering one half. Although, some guys likely over aromatize when running too much T therefore, I say lower your T dose before adding an AI. Just my thoughts.

  1. 70 pg/mL (ultra-sensitive assay, range < 29 pg/mL)

  2. Bloating, fatigue, lethargy, apathy, (suicidal) depression, moodiness, short fuse, mental weakness, hopelessness, back acne, rumination/living in the past, constant feelings of regret.

  3. No. I considered it but lowered my dose instead, all those negative symptoms went away.

you got those sides from it being to high?

103pg/mL (TT 709ng/dL)

Anxiety, restless energy, too “amped” to sleep, gyno

.125mg 2x per week usually, .25mg 2x per week if I take more test. Keeps e2 in the 45-60pg/mL range

Despite AI being equated to rat poison, I haven’t died yet

It was 70 pm/mL on the sensitive method.

None.

The AI gave me really horrible symptoms early on. I’ve heard people describe personal experiences with chemotherapy and feel like this is pretty close.

Im one of the lucky ones with no high e2 sides. But I never focused on Estradiol. E2 has gone up to 60 and has remained at about 37 as of my last 2 tests. Wont touch an AI.
