Trying lighter presses with more careful form. Went for 10 each set but didn’t always lock out the last one so it doesn’t count.

1x3, 2x2: pullup 36 kg

Spent the afternoon crushing grapes for zymurgy purposes which didn’t make me feel tired doing the deads, but I did feel it more by the time I got to the pullups.

Did rows not cleans as it feels less stressful, and I gotta help somebody move furniture and a drum kit this evening and tomorrow. So, yeah, I wussed out.

Instead of adding weight to the squats or getting even more into ridiculously high reps, I thought I’d add depth, as knees have been feeling pretty good lately. Today was slow and just feeling out how deep I can comfortably go… I probably go deeper on Zerchers but as the bar’s resting on my thighs at the bottom it’s not really loading the muscles the same way and also not trying to pull me forward as much, so going deeper isn’t as big a difference as it is with front squats.

Oh, I see I forgot to log Monday:
3x8: front squat 89 kg
3x9: db floor press 44 kg
1x12: military press 55 kg
Today:
2x5: double pause deadlift 169 kg
1x10, 2x8: high pull 69 kg
Same conclusion as the last time I tried this: high pulls are way less stressful than power cleans, because I don’t have to worry whether I’m going to catch the bar at the top or not. Worst case it only makes it to a few inches below chin level. They’re more cardio-y, too, no stopping with the bar on my shoulders to take a deeper breath.

Also spent about 5 hours yesterday pressing almost 50 liters of apple juice and bottling some wine. That’s not a lot of hard work, but a lot of work that’s done while bent down. So more DOMSy today than usual.
