Yeah mate, that’s the new one. I have to say I like it pretty well. The trainers are super chill and nice, as well are the people I have interacted with. Sadly I have no one to push me there as I am the only strength athlete apparently. But the training conditions are pretty nice. I don’t know what to do with the strongman season yet as I can’t use my equipment rn.

Glad you like the gym mate, I get what you mean in terms of no one tp push you, but you have been doing this a long time, you know what you are doing and I am sure you dont need a cheer squad.

Is there still no where else you can store and use your strongman equipment. No mate with an industrial unit or a mate with a garage and long driveway ?

Are there any local strongman facebook groups, you could ask if anyone else is training strongman locally from home and maybe find a venue and a group.

going to be interesting to see how you go with Paul. Without sharing all his IP would you be able to give a bit of a summary of the process and what he is giving you programming wise. Just really interested in how the coach thing works with other coaches.

I am going to be logging my sessions as usualm he doesn’t mind that. At least he didn’t last time around. I just learned thst he actually reads this log from time to time still, which I admit I found a little touching.

Deadlifts are not as terrible as I feared right now. I have been experimenting with a more posterior chain dominant pull with intentional back rounding.
I pulled a 230 kg single today without hype up and going in with a good bit fatigue in legs, back and overall fatigue. It was not a max as intended but a heavy pull. That’s 10 kg off my very old deadlift bar pb. So maybe some hope there? :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

I know you have worked with Paul before but when you re-engaged with how is he determining working weights and approach with you ? Where does it all start ?

I filled out a form and told him about my recent weeks of training and goals. He also loosely follows my training on IG and apparently here so I think he has a good idea.

I was out of town in a crammed commercial gym with my partner. I forgot my shorts and had to use ‘her biggest gym pants’, which were colorful boxershorts on me. Well I mean with an arse like mine, what the hell.
Starting to feel the desired deload effect finally.

Sadly I caught a cold. Apparently can’t avoid it forever. I need to be fit for the weekend at the latest. Fascist and conspiracy nutjobs are coming to town and need a warm welcome. I will likely have to skip a few days of training though.

Getting some light movement in today sfter not doing anything all week other than take walks. Real training will start Monday. Cold is much better still some signs there.
