4 chest supported cable row (wide neutral)
4 x 10-12 @ s13

5 incline db biceps curls
2 x 8-10 @ 15 kg
2 x 8-10 @ 12,5 kg

  • Felt much much better and more ready to train today! The rest did me good. Hopefully I’ll be able to have a better go at deadlifts tomorrow.
  • on the negative side: Strained my neck on snatches somehow. Feels very weird. Will have to wait how it plays out but I don’t think it will be a big issue.

Last workout of my twenties

1 clean
2 @ 40 kg
2 @ 50 kg
2 @ 60 kg
1 @ 70 kg
1 @ 80 kg
1 @ 90 kg
1 @ 100 kg
1 @ 105 kg
1 @ 107,5 kg
1 @ 110 kg - PR, finally!
0 @ 115 kg - greedy but had to, haha
2 @ 100 kg

2 13" axle deadlift
Up to
1 @ 225 kg - MUCH better feeling than tuesday
0 @ 240 kg - lol. Just no.
1 @ 235 kg - hitched mess. Did a double with 2,5 kg less the other week.
1 @ 220 kg
2 x 2 @ 210 kg

3 paused front squat
3 x 3 @ 100 kg

4 carry and drag medley
2 x (90 kg keg into 107 kg sandbag into 200 kg (+sled) bsckward drag) for ca. 9,5 m

  • deadlift: I liked my technique today. That was not the issue. I just can’t interpret this lift and am in a very weak spot with deadlifts. 240 kg was my all time max from the ground (with deadlift bar). I hate this bar height.
Welp, whatever. Nothing to lose sleep over if I don’t perform well at that comp.
  • too lazy today tp do yoke or throws. Will do next week.

Totally missed that - happy birthday, assuming a day of bratwurst and Bavarian beer?

Happy Birthday to one of the good ones.

@dagill2 @alex_uk @Cyrrex thank you guys! :kissing_heart: I had a really lovely birthday celebration. No bratwurst though and I stuck to pilsner, dark beer and whisky, haha.

Very tired and beat from the weekend. Did NOT feel like training at all - fiest workout of my thirties, lol.

1 log lifts (clean each rep)
Up to
1 @ 101 kg
5 @ 105 kg - within 1 minute, PR me thinks
5 @ 100 kg
8 @ 100 kg - only one clean

Very glad this worked out under these circumstances! 5 reps is exactly where I wanted to be at now.

2 snatch
2 @ 40 kg
2 @ 50 kg
1 @ 60 kg
1 @ 70 kg
1 @ 80 kg
1 @ 85 kg - solid
2 x 0 @ 90 kg
2 x 0 @ 87,5 kg
0 @ 82,5 kg

Okay snatches were just not happening anymore. I should be happy to hit 85 kg regardless.

3 split jerk recovery
3 x 3 @ 147,5 kg

4 btn lat pull down
4 x 10 @ s13

Just accidentally clicked to the beginning of your log, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the beginning of your log, the funny thing is you were 21 then and now hit the next milestone, 30, the progress you’ve made has been fantastic (I mean your bench hasn’t changed but we won’t mention that).

Great to see, even if I wasn’t looking for it!

May the next decade be even more productive!

Haha I love to have a look back throughout all this time! I am glad I kept at it with logging and also recording stuff because it’s really funny to see all the old lifting videos from back then.

Yea fun seeing not just how far you come but how you got where you are and some of the influences on that, I particularly liked this little comment:

Gonna answer tomorrow guys, just dropping this off here real quick.

17.09.

Late in the evening because I had to prioritize other things today. I was physically spent but mentally sharp going into this.

1 clean (work up in 15 min)
2 @ 40 kg
2 @ 50 kg
1 @ 60 kg
1 @ 70 kg
1 @ 80 kg
1 @ 90 kg
1 @ 100 kg
1 @ 110 kg - tied PR
1 @ 115 kg - PR!!

2 sandbag throw
10 x 1 @ 20 kg

3 yoke walk
3 x (2 x 12 m) @ 265 kg

Misloaded the first one so the weight was distributed very unevenly (two pins had 65 kg on and two had 50 on). That was hard on the back and incredibly wobbly.
Even after correcting that, these were the wobbliest and shittiest yoke walks ever. Had a very slippery jacket on, that I should havr taken off for those. Well can only be better in two weeks.

I am honestly so glad when I am through with this comp and can go into a nice off season.

@alex_uk haha that is a great find! Holy shit how I admired this man. Even before I joined the site, I would look out everyday if @Alpha had updates his log. What he did totally shifted my perspective on what’s possible back then. He was the reason I joined here and started my log almost 10 years ago.
Closely after that I saw what @T3hPwnisher and @strongmanvinny21 were doing and I knew what I had to do and prove to myself.

@freshyfresh haha, I probably should! Maybe Brian has to buy me an ice cream or something for the encouragement to his later career.
And thank you!

@Cyrrex @simo74 there is proof from this weekend that would suggest otherwise but if I shared it on a site without a paywall, my log would come to an abrupt and dishonorable end. Haha.
