Definitely a point worth keeping in mind. Maybe it’s there on comp day, with a decent stone, maybe not.
They won’t allow real tacky st the comp unfortunately. I feel like I would definitely be able to do it with tacky but without it’s really hard to do.

2 hour walk. No other cardio bc I need to prioritize recovery. Also yesterday I went to the spa and it did me a world of good!

Right knee is a bit of an issue right now which is strange because that is usually not a problem site. Not sure if it is from having to ride a way too small bike or the long walk that I used to walk in new hiking boots or training or the combination. Left shoulder also slightly achy still.

  • It’s pretty likely the medley is at about contest weight but the distance will most likely be 15m.
  • knee behaved well. Crazy stressful and kind of emotional day. So wasn’t super present but still good effort.

Hey Ko, I hope things are well!

I noticed in the videos that the stone was sitting on the flat spot at the beginning of most of your stone lifts/over bar. I find that more difficult, as I cannot get my hands under the stone as much. I make sure that I lift with the rounded side down and I will go as far as some slight rocking of the stone back and forth between a Vulcan Salute :vulcan_salute: and to get my hands as close together as I can. It seems to make a big difference for my “crushing” of the stone for the pick.

103kg stone is still no joke, and you moved it well.

I will try lifting the round part next time. I kind of thought I could grip the edge of the flat surface but that’s not working out so far.

I have done 3 reps with 110 kg to the shoulder in comp before so I thought 130 kg over bar should be pretty doable but those reps were with real tacky and that seems to make a huge difference for me.

Lits of the sets with the car. Got up to 5 out of 7 notches on the hand brake but then it was start and stop all the way, so most sets were at notch 4 to keep some of the inertia.
