International feminist fight day was today. The rest I go to are usually anti right/ facism.
Good on you, mate.
Gotta fight for what you believe in. I’m quite politically active and passionate for what I consider just and ethical. I defnitely ramped up my political activities in recent months, given the rise of facism here.
My hamstrings feel violated!
At least it isn’t your glutes ![]()
2 hour walk. That’s all that’s gonna happen today aside from maybe some mobility work because damn I’m feeling it. Back locked up a bit from the walk
10.03.
1 mobility flow
2 walk 1,5 hours
3 mobility flow (incl. 3x10 jefferson curls with empty bar)
4 ergometer bike
30 min @ 100 watts, 65 rpm (restoration intensity)
Gotta get the back and hamstrings up to par for the week, haha.
11.03.
1 log press
- complex: 1 clean - 3 press - 1 clean - 3 press
3 sets @ 95 kg - 1 clean, AMRAP press
9 @ 95 kg
I find it very hard to brace with the log if I’m doing reps
2 btn split jerk
3 x 3 @ 112,5 kg
Experimenting with an ever so slightly closer grip this block. Left it in as a secondary to not lose explosiveness and stay in the groove for when I push it again after competitions.
3 close grip axle floor press
8 @ 105 kg (supposwd to be 10rm)
2 x 10 @ 90 kg
4 btn neutral grip lat pull down
5 x 10 @ s13
5 face pulls
3 x 20 @ s3
Notes
- left biceps a bit strained from the sandbag runs but nothing bad.
12.03.
Hips are a bit sore going in. Admittedly from excessive bedroom activities and not because of strongman training.
1 deadlift (deadlift bar)
Wave 1:
6 @ 165 kg
5 @ 175 kg
4 @ 185 kg
Wave 2:
6 @ 175 kg
5 @ 185 kg
4 @ 195 kg
Currently working on assuming and MAINTAINING a more flexed spine position throughout the lift.
2 hang snatch high pull
3 x 10 @ 75 kg
3 farmer’s walk
20m - drop every 5m and pick up again
3 sets @ 115 kg p.h.
1st in 19 sec.
2nd in 18 sec.
3rd in 19 sec.
4 chest supported db row
5 x 10 @ 25 kg
Felt the biceps strain here, so stayed very careful. Didn’t feel it on anything prior.
5 db curls
15 @ 7,5 kg
2 x 15 @ 5 kg
Yeah left biceps definitely strained. Gotta be a bit careful. Funny that it was fine with log yesterday and farmer’s walk.
14.03.
1 axle clean and press (clean every rep)
3 x 3 @ 95 kg
1st push press, 2nd push jerk, 3rd split jerk
2 squat (beltless)
5 x 5 @ 130 kg
3a strict log press (from the rack to spare the strained biceps)
7 x 5 @ 74 kg
3b neutral grip chin ups (dip attachnent)
7 x 5
4a db windmills
3 x 12 @ 22.5 kg
4b copenhagen plankes
3 x 15 sec
5 oh triceps extension
3 x 20 @ s3
Skipped biceps
Great pressing!
Do you find that the clean or the press is more fatiguing?
Oh the cleaning by a long shot! I’m both weaker and fatigue much more on the clean.
15.03.
1 yoke walk
213 kg x 17m in 6.9 sec
253 kg x 17m in9 sec
273 kg x 17m in 9.6 sec
273 kg x 17m in 9.5 sec
Good start. Weighed the yoke and it’s only 33 kg. Wobbliest yoke in existence but train hard, compete easy.
2 sldl (soft touch and go)
2 x 20 @ 110 kg
Fuck my life
3 kneeling jumps
3 @ bw
3 @ 20 kg (bar)
2 @ 30 kg
2 @ 40 kg - PR
Only a circus lift but pretty cool to be able to do at 120 kg bw, fatigued and without training plyos.
Notes:
- haven’t done yoke in forever. I still love it.
- no stones or sandbag because of biceps.
Do it @Cyrrex
I just did like five on my floor with bodyweight, and they seemed quite easy. That said, my brain is telling me this a potentially dangerous exercise, not sure it is worth beating your little PR:
It is. The bar is adding the spice.
Do I get to account for the difference in bodyweight? How do I put this gently…you are more than 50% heavier than I am.
Yeah you should be able to do it with at least 80 kg to make it fair
Your math checks out
Cardio today was yet another protest. A bit shorter than the last few but got the steps in. Also next week I’m going on the first vacation in forever and the first couple’s vacation in really really forever!
