2 x 10 km bike and a bit of splish splash in the lake today.

This week has been hectic to the point of the ridiculous (not dominated by negative stressors). And I’m thankful for it. Thankful that I’m in a position to experience this and draw positives from it. Thankful to be in a position to once again open up to new experiences and new people. I might be going overboard at times with how thin I spread myself but I worked god damn hard to be able to do it and fuck me if I’m overcompensating. I earned it.

  4. Medley: 120 kg sandbag 40m into 140 kg atlas stone load.

Not the most exciting mix of events. Farmer’s is heavy for that distance. Stone is something I can’t really train and without tacky there’s no way (no idea yet if allowed). Keg is something I haven’t done for over 2 years. I hope I can organize one. Weight should be doable. Well car deadlift… You know my struggles.

Humidity killed me today. Not sure how I feel about treating my legs like this today and deadlifting tomorrow.

I don’t know if my body is just processing the last sprint towards freedom (holidays) or if I have been fighting something off but I’m in a bit of a weird place physically.

I don’t know which of the hangovers was worse for my training: Legs or alcohol induced.

(Semantic explanation: ‘Kater’ means hangover in German (and also refers to a male cat). DOMS are simply called ‘Muskelkater’ - so muscle hangover. I had all of the hangovers today).

Those were the heaviest 180 kg since I first PR’d this weight. Fatigue from heavy deads last week, hangover and soreness made these quite horrible, haha.

Went out into the Harz for some nature fun time. Which turned into a bit of a gritty effort.

It was over 30°C (33 when I checked), practically no shade and since I very spontaneously decided on this trail, I had way too little water. Also every step hurt from DOMS. Now with the exception of doing this alone, which may be a little irresponsible, I loved this! This is the kind of thing I want to be conditioned for. To be able to do and just shrug off, instead of being ‘the big guy’ who has it harder. So I welcomed the leg pain and even the water rationing.
It was a great tour all in all (only about 11 km). :slight_smile:

I suggest you give those sandbag death medleys a try. I’m fatter than you, so you can either beat my times or make more trips.

To give an excuse already: I did them at the end of my sessions, not as a standalone!

Trying different techniques. Tried to one motion a few times but at this point that’s seems counterproductive.

Not the fastest time I had but I’m still happy with it because this is the shakiest yoke in existence and I know from experience I’m a good 2-3 sec faster with a comp yoke.

Sickness getting worse over the day.
My weekend project is my parent’s garden. Actually pleasant work.
