Okay let’s hope it’s all the deadlifting and the accompanying lower bwck and hammie fatigue because I’m embarrassed to say: These feel heavy. At least WAY heavier than they should, considering I squatted 170 kg x 11 with an axle not long ago.
2 bench press
3 x 5 @ 112,5 kg
I have no clue but this is probably close to PR territory. Felt way worse than last week today.
3 seated box jumps
5 x 3
4 ghr
3 x 5
5 ring pull ups
3 x 5
Notes:
reminder to myself: Don’t squat in the narrow racks. Way too much stress on the biceps and pecs. Dont like them for bench either but wanted safeties.
I just felt weak across the board today in every exercise. Hopefully just a fluke.
1 deadlift
3 x ? @ 60 kg
5 @ 100 kg
4 @ 140 kg
3 @ 180 kg
1 @ 200 kg
1 @ 215 kg
2 @ 225 kg - PR!
First rep the bar was set up too far from me. That cost me. Second went up pretty easily tbh and position was perfect. Thought about doing a third for a second but that would have most likely been a grinder again so it’s arguably stupid to go for it.
2 power jerk
4 x 5 @ 92,5 kg
3 bent over row
3 x 10 @ 90 kg
4 cyclist squats
3 x 15 @ 72,5 kg
This is born from a place of hatred where the sun never shines. Pump was unreal
5 Hanging leg raises
3 x 10 @ 2,5 kg
Notes:
90% of target weight with about 4 weeks or so to go. I’m a pessimist at heart but I am starting to see this.
Visiting my family this weekend finally. Went out with some friends for some relaxed beers in the old pub… Ended up returning at 4 am. Classic. It was a good night out though and I slept a lot afterwards so not that damaging.
1 11" deadlift
3 x 5 @ 167,5 kg
No idea if it actually was 11". Moved ridiculously good.
2 snatch grip rdl
4 x 8 @ 110 kg
3 lat pull down
4 x 12
4 unilateral leg extension
3 x 12 short breaks
5 rounded back, back extension
3 x 12-15 sven shorter breaks
At the end I was running out of time and honestly didn’t have feel like setting up the hip thrusts and split squats so I did some bodybuilding for the quads and the glute focused hypers instead.
Damn my legs are on fire after the cyclist squats yesterday. Wasn’t walking right.
Just caught up on your log. Glad that you write about training and other stuff as well. I’ve kept pretty much silent on relationships for a while now. I wish I hadn’t. Seems like you’ve gotten some good support here and I think you have a healthy perspective on things.
Perspective is rarely the issue I’m struggling with. Case in point: My last therapy session. I laid out the factors contributing to my current issues regarding stress management and reflected on them in a bit of monologue. The response of my therapist was: “I’m really not sure why you’d need me here. It’s not like I can help you unravel something that you’re missing. You’re well aware of the contributing factors and what role they play.” Which is a bit frustrating because I come for things I don’t know (maybe I’m still expecting to get presented with solutions, which won’t happen, haha).
That said I’m always happy to get the perspective from someone else. Even if it is sometimes only to hear a different voice spell out what I may have floating in my head myself.
The picture doesn’t do it justice but this was a ca. 500g(!) flanque steak that my dad prepared.
That concludes my trip home.
I ate like a king, drank like a fish and slept like a baby. It was a good time.
Had a nap. So superpowers engaged. Discussed possibilities and we decided not to take a deload just yet and keep pushing.
Legs still not fully recovered though.
Just caught up in a single read so was a quick roller coaster! Really good you don’t need surgery, had a colleague have it about 2 years ago, for a benign brain tumour - it’s brutal.
Good to see you managing stress appropriately as well and of course massive congrats on the deadlift prs!
