Per aspera ad astra (strongman Koestrizer)

yeah, the correlation between size and appetite gets a bit messed up for small women who work out

I could easily (and have) eat more meat than my brother and dad combined

True. Although towards the end I carried the team. My ex remains a mistery to me in that regard. She actually managed to out eat me and in general ate pretty similar portion sizes at almost half the size.

Yesterday, I roasted a 2lb rack of lamb for breakfast and legit could have eaten another one after i was finished.

Lamb for breakfast? What a life!

I’m not living at home, so I get to eat whatever I want (if I have it), whenever I want. I like starting the day off with a late but massive “breakfast”. That way, I can basically work through lunch (just having veggies and protein powder) and a small to medium sized dinner, then night snack

Usually it’s 10-12 eggs, but I have gotten creative.

Last week, I had massive roasted chicken legs for breakfast a couple of times and had liver pate two days ago. I’ve also just straight up eaten a stick of butter

Everytime you talk about food I seem to run out of words. For different reasons.

Love this statement. I can now imagine them sitting there holding their full bellies whilst you strap yourself into the chair and start the real work.

I watched the video before reading the post and wasn’t sure if you were going to front squat or press the weight. That’s ridiculously awesome. And for a deload at that…

Haha thank you. It would have been less smooth, had I squatted it

I liked this yesterday but think it deserves a little more than that. Feeling better and more importantly recognising that you feel better is such an awesome step mate. Lets hope you continue on this path.

Thanks mate, that’s very kind of you. I am starting to realize that I am actually surrounded by wonderful people and I also realize now that they like me.

Something I learned lately is how much my judgement of other people’s opinions on me differs from what seems to be the reality. It’s a common question in therapy or in personality questionnaires to ask “how do other view/ perceive you?”. It’s a constant battle to put it into practice but just to realize how much my own view on this and the reality seem to differ, is a good step.

As for the topic at hand that caused me pain: It’s still something that is bothering me a lot but the scale is tipping and therefore it’s causing me less pain (count your blessings and all that, you know?)

This is massive mate. Now having kids it is very easy to see how as adults we wear a mask and its not always easy to tell how people feel about you or think of you. With kids it is so easy and the love the give you is unconditional and makes you feel like a super man at times. On the flip side they can also bring out the bad parts of you when you get frustrated. With adults its not that simple.

Funny you should mention that. I recently started therapy again after a longer break due to insurance issues.
We are talking about a lot of different things and are exploring some promising directions. One of that is taking down what my therapist calls my “fassade”. Not one I developed willingly per se or on purpose but I am wearing a mask and not only for other people. It’s such an engrained pattern that I honestly am not able to look behind it myself.
Pretty intense stuff. Basically it’s gonna be about real emotions. That is a complicated and scary area for me. But whatever helps is worth the effort.

Got a really good and thorough massage on my quads and hip flexors from one of my classmates. My left hip flexor/ proximal rectus femoris ending has been an on and off issue for several months now. I lately aggrevated it again doing a stupid stunt more or less. During the massage she commented on how different the tissue felt in comparison to the uninjured side. I had to agree with her there and that made me think that perhaps there is some scar tissue on the left side, which could mean there was a minor tear or something.
There is no consequence for this, just wanted to note it because it’s interesting. The massage felt awesome and I’ll ask her to do one again before next week.
I’m not big on passive modalities but in my case I’d say it can help the process.

1 deadlift (beltless)
3 x 5 @ 150 kg

2a strict press
3 x 6 @ 60 kg

2b pull ups
3 x 4 max effort for today

3a box jumps
5 x 3 @ 75 cm

3b bent over row
3 x 8 @ 80 kg

4 Assault bike
10 minutes - 5,2 km

Notes:

  • Didn’t even realize how much I needed a deload, lol.
  • I kinda messed up the plan yesterday. No biggie.
  • lifting done in 30 minutes

Jesus the heat is kicking my arse this week.

I like a good quad massage but at the same time it is so painful I feel like crying. At least its not as painful as a calf massage!!

Trained in the mid day sun on an empty stomach. The heat makes everything about 100% heavier.

1 oh squat
3 x 6 @ 60kg

2 power jerk
3 x 3 @ 105 kg

Took these belted to mimic everything closely.

3 front squats
3 x 3 @ 100 kg

First one beltless but it felt kinda heavy, lol.

Notes:
One more deaload session and 2 days of rest to go. Secured me a quad massage for Monday.
Weekend will be chill. A little get together on Saturday but I’ll watch my bed time so I won’t be too fatigued.
