Considered going higher as this wasn’t really a max effort but I decided to play it smart and leave a bit in the tank. My body is pretty shot from the heavy lifting this week and this isn’t really an important lift.

- yeah I’m definitely feeling it today… fucking spent. Still ticked off all the boxes. Deadlifts felt heavy to no one’s surprise. Awesome week of lifting, capped off by some honest base building work.
Whenever you update now I always assume there is a PR. Those deadlifts also looked pretty painful.
Haha not sure I can match that expectation for much longer. But I don’t really count oh squats as real PRs. They’re more PRs by default.

My parents have an air fryer. I like it but don’t see the need if I have an oven.
The air fryer has air circulation so it crisps stuff evenly and well without drying the food out

I never considered my achievements impressive. I guess it depends on the frame of reference? Like my classmates consider my lifting impressive but most of them would consider a 100 kg squat impressive since they just don’t know if that’s a lot. I myself can compare myself to fellow strongman and have actual competitions to see how strong I am in comparison. That paints a different picture.
That’s all true, and context matters…but it is worthwhile to take a step back sometimes and look at yourself in more absolute terms. How many people can press 100 kilo overhead? Rare enough that I don’t even want to guess.

I ordered a squat stand and your post reminded me that, although the thing has safeties, they won’t do shit if I actually drop a bar on them
There are benefits to that: Makes you not chicken out when things get hard.
I actually like squat stands. Just that pair I use is very unstable (a foot is missing, very light, probably 50 years old)

Started building/ remodeling the outdoor kitchen with my dad yesterday. Apart from that I have literally transformed into a sloth over the weekend. I ate everything in sight and slept an incredible amount. #beastmode.

Notes:
- had a real rack today. Kinda hated it, haha. Nah it’s nice and all but it forces me to use a more narrow grip and that’s asking a lot from my large self. Also my wrists touch the safeties which might be a little dangerous.
- felt athletic as fuck today.
- on the other hand I’m battling very minor cold symptoms atm. If I continue my sloth life combined with some fresh air, I should be able to shake them easily.
