And life ?? How’s that ?

Caught my clever dodge there, did you? Haha.
Yeah not good but not that terrible either by my standards. Started dating a bit but not sure that’s going anywhere.
How are things with you? Work stress still screwing you over?

Unfortunately it is worse than ever and it is spilling into my home life and making me very cross and grumpy all the time. I really don’t know how to control it at the moment. I can’t reduce the work load, time off means coming back to even more stress and stressing about that when I am off. A job change might work but I am not in the right head space to even look for another job let alone interview for one. I just keep pushing forward cause that’s what you do. Hopefully things will improve, I just can’t see how at the moment. Sorry to load all that on you.

I’m sorry to hear that. I remember you’re in a management type position. Is it possible to delegate more of your work?
Definitely a really tricky situation especially when finding a new job isn’t immediately feasible.
I really hope it’s going to get better soon but if not, remember to pull the emergency break before you crash into a wall.

Yer manage a big warehouse for One of Australia’s largest retailers. I have a few new managers at the moment so a little hard to give them more. I’ve been through this before and I am certain I’ll get through it again. Just need to try to turn off and find a way to be calmer at home. As they say here “she’ll be right mate”

4 aleknas

Notes:

  • fuck this session. Things sucked and stuff ached and everything felt off.
  • but whatever. It’s just a meaningless deload session and it was really late and excuse X. So it will be okay and I will kick arse next week.
  • My upper body isn’t feeling all that recovered so I might adjust tomorrow’s session and maybe skip parts of it. I will also receive my first shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine tomorrow so I need to squeeze the session in beforehand because after I might have to deal with side effects and need to rest over the weekend.

I should just not deload ever. Same shit every time, haha.

One guy’s deload looks like another man’s max effort ahahahah

Snatches look good my man, bar is very close to the body, nice leg movement. You could probably pull even more and be more patient, looks like you almost don’t shrug at all, and finish the full extension, and you will destroy this bar

Notes:

  • as I’ve said before I’m not a big believer in beltless training. However sometimes you have those fix ideas… I started thinking yesterday that I might pull the double beltless. Kind of daring me to. So I did. I have never done more than 180 kg beltless before. Felt fine on the back but lacked speed (probably hesitated) and ultimately not worth it going forward. Still good experience.
  • deload over. Let’s get after it.
  • btw 200 kg is not a typical deload weight for me. Paul kept that higher on purpose.

Jesus that vaccine fucked me sideways!
Initially I was fine but around 3am I started to experience headache, joint and muscle pain and cold shivers. Not a good night and by now I feel like I have been run over by a bus.
I underestimated the side effects a little but they fit the doctor’s warning.

That sucks, shouldn’t have had that dodgy British vaccine! I had the German one, was great.

Nah in all seriousness, hope you have a speedy recovery. Paracetamol and ibuprofen are recommended if you’re struggling.

Thanks man. I’m taking all the Paracetamol I can get my hands on, haha.
Yeah the AstraZeneca vaccine is known for some nasty (yet non dangerous) side effects. We fucked up royally in our vaccination campaign so I’m happy to get anything at all. Some classmates I have spoken to are experiencing the same while my sister was fine.
The doc literally told me “I still wish you a nice weekend and… good luck!” That should have been a giveaway.

Haha that’s brilliant, my parents and my in-laws all had astra and were fine, but someone younger than me had it and was bad, I wonder if younger people get a stronger immune response to Astra?

According to the available data, younger people react stronger to it, however still a real shock reaction is super rare.
My reaction to vaccines has always been strong, so I shouldn’t be surprised. After my cancer treatment I had to get all vacs renewed and that usually took me out 2 days per injection with light flue like symptoms.
That said this one is a bit more uncomfortable. If I don’t take a paracetamol every 4 hours I have a good bit of a fever going on. It will all be fine but I would actually need to study for a test right now and I can’t really swe myself getting up, haha.
Pizza and ice cream it is!

The strongman dream lives on!

Screw the revision.

Most of the time it’s fun to eat as much as you have to in order to be my weight, if you are used to it but other times it’s really not.
I don’t know if it the vaccine or I’m off for some other reason today or if it’s the physical manifestation of working through some stressful stuff… either way, suddenly after training I found myself void of all energy. Like really wiped out in a drastic manner. I made myself dinner, forced down a few forks but ultimately realized this wasn’t going to happen as my body was repulsive to the chewing and eating. I already didn’t get sufficient calories in on the weekend and I’m looking forward to some tough sessions this week. So the only solution I saw was to drag myself to the store and buy a pint of ice cream. Probably never enjoyed ice cream this little but the texture to calorie made this a good choice.

In the supermarket I revisited some conversations on nutrition on here in shich I could never understand how someone wasn’t able to eat enough and had a little laugh at myself.

This was a weird ice cream related post.
