Per aspera ad astra (strongman Koestrizer)

I tried this before and it made it hard for me to engage my lats. I remember initially being so excited as I’d finally found a way to make up for my shit deadlift strength, but in reality it did not work :frowning:

I shall try again though. Also, I’ve admittedly never tried thumbless with straps @T3hPwnisher, gonna have to try it soon.

How long is too long though?

Never seen straps too long for an axle, haha.

Same boat man… same boat, haha.

It can pretty significantly decrease the ROM, but for me it comes at the cost of using my lats to the most of my ability. I do run thumbless just actually holding the bar in my fingers rather than finger tips!

@Koestrizer @T3hPwnisher I just tried the strap technique with a dumbbell at home, my short straps don’t really allow for this technique at all — they’re designed differently from the type of straps I see in pwns blog post. Looking around the “shops” (internet) I’m seeing a lot of different lengths. What length do the pair of you use just so I have a ballpark for what people are content with?

Curiously, if it is on the market I should assume people are content with it but I’d much rather hear what works for you.

What kind of straps do you have? Just post a picture. I have the “standard” length and was wondering as well if a longer one would probably work better

Ah yeah I feel like we have talked about those before.
They are highly unusual. Never seen them myself.

I use the ironmind strong enough straps

I’ve posted them before. They are great, but wouldn’t work for this. Bloody excellent for strapping into a machine or a dumbbell, takes so little time. But won’t add any ROM.

Nice, can get those locally in town soon. Thank you for your reply.

Left over protein pancake from breakfast with cream cheese, mushrooms and bacon stripes.
That was pretty good.

Deadlift PR looked great! Also I see it looks a bit warmer there now. Someone has probably asked before, but have your neighbors given you any weird comments on the lifting outside?

You dieting down?

Thanks, it was a video from a month ago though, not sure if you’ve seen that.

There are several types of comments: There is a sweet old lady, who constantly says how inspired she is by me to work harder on her own fitness.
Then there are some guys who comment and chat about it, but not in a weird way. One guy who asked if I was worried about my discs in later years. A cat that stares intensely and sometimes demand I open the door for her and then some neighbors that are confused and just want to get away from me.

However there’s a whole other story about the neighbors with the next door patio that I’ve been meaning to tell.
If there is one constant in all of my outside lifting it is the smell of marijuana. At this point my brain is probably wired to the point that, the next college party I’m gonna attend, I will just instantly get a pump. They have some weird commune type living situation going and besides selling drugs, seem to be constantly smoking. I have trained at 9 am before and it did not differ in that aspect from my 5-6 pm sessions. Fridays are the worst because I get the smell in 20 minute intervals, if I train in the evening.

No way, Jose!
But the ingredients of my batch were: 250g flour, 250g Magerquark, 6 eggs and 500ml milk.
I baked them in butter or oil and ate them with cherries. I was just full at one point, haha.

Sorry for the late response on here, but I also do the thing pwnisher was talking about, basically just holding the bar with my fingertips/figure 8 straps. Particularly with an axle, thumbs around the bar don’t make any sense to me.
