I skipped abs. It’s 2°C and I didn’t feel like laying on the ground. Why didn’t I do it inside? I admit I was too lazy once I was indoors.
This was a good end to a good week of training overall.
Just imagine what I could do if I slept and/ or felt like a normal human being. Still, fatigue management from training is working really well so far.
Thanks, they have been a fun change of pace. I’m not sure how to get them speedier but there’s a lot more weight left for sure. All in due time. Since I’m training with such a high frequency and various (highish) rep ranges, I think it’s a smart move to have the weights on the low end.
Really didn’t want to workout today. It was the first one below 0° C, I was fatigued, tired and lazy. But I also came home earlier and had about 45 minutes of daylight left, which compelled me to hurry up and use some of that.
deadlifts were easy and hard at the same time. It was 6 reps after all (god, I’m a pussy, haha)
solid day of training. Nothing special or exciting, just good old bread and butter work.

I want to share something positive. While I am deeply struggling atm. (as you know since I am fairly transparent with it), the past week and Monday of this week have been considerabely better than the weeks before that. I include Monday because it has been a partivular low point most weeks. I even slept a little bit Sunday to Monday. Just thought I’d share a little bit of progress, however small or long lasting it might end up being. Thanks for always listening and cheering me up, guys.

moved log to today in place of clean and jerk bc I’m visiting my parents over the weekend and I don’t want to bring it. I died. Cleans were poor execution and my fitness was not up to the task here. On set 2 I only did 6 cleans and pressed the last two out. I was a bit ashamed and angry and said to myself “no matter how long this next set is going to take, you are fucking doing it right!” The main problem besides not being in practise with the log and the fitness was grip. The handles were slippery as fuck and I didn’t have chalk. Threw me off really bad to constantly adjust my grip.
was supposed to do floor presses but my stronger flatmate was away and I’m not sure the other one was up for the deadlift portion. So settled for the push ups. Was pretty good.
Pretty sore all over but nothing too bad. Stayed up late drinking yesterday, so that might explain a certain lack of explosiveness but it might on the other hand just be fatigue and stress.
Did well on my practical exam yesterday. I have today and tomorrow off - so long weekend, baby! Still have to do assignments but honestly relaxation is more important at this point.

good session. Had company which was kinda nice, to have a bit of a chat throughout the session. I’m not that dead focused at the moment that it would distract me and I don’t feel I need to be either.
regarding cleans: Chatted to Paul about them. He is very aware that they’re not gonna look like textbook and told me I’m not to worry about missing reps, he wants to challenge me with those.
I kinda miss and simultaneously don’t miss heavy squats. Found my heaviest squat ever on youtube the other day and it looks better than I remembered it, which is kinda cool.
Obviously super cheaty but still a cool lift to me. I would love to get the cheat things out and go for some of those soul crushing, head exploding singles again haha
Yep that’s it. Would be rather unproductive. Plus I don’t squat much these days.

Nah mate. Over the christmas-silvester-period the restrictions are loosened significantly so you can meet up with a good chunk of people if you want to.
I am actually one of the people who oppose these lightened restrictions. It makes no sense to me, I’ve never heard of a virus that cares about holidays and festivities. The more careless we are now, the longer the lockdown will take place into next year.
Christimas will be me, my parents and sister. I have no girlfriend and most of the family I really cared about has died in the last few years.
Silvester I don’t care. Never did. My flatmates are both away for it so I will likely be with my family as well, maybe meet one friend or so. I don’t want to have a party and most of my friends are on the cautious side as well. But I seriously wouldn’t mind it all that much if I watched a show and had a whisky all by myself.
And that is not to say that people who have bigger plans than me are doing it wrong! So please don’t feel attacked if you as a family father and christian want to celebrate this a little bigger than me. I don’t have that many people left to celebrate it with anymore. I mean compared to the previous years with girlfriend and family plus more alive family members on my own side, haha. I’m still looking forward to a few relaxing days with my folks.
Slept from 11 pm to 1 am and then from 4 am to 6 am. Had a hell of an evening/ night/ morning… wait let me rephrase: The evening, night and morning were hell. There we go.
So yeah, got some sugar in me and went out into the cold and dark patio… god this winter thing is not helping!
realized during warm ups that abs and lower back were not recovered from Saturday. Took my time warming up for deads.
deads felt slightly slower and heavier because of the fatigue but ultimately still very satisfying! I always dread reps on deads but I am dialed in like a hydraulic machine lately
