It’s only because the injury though right? My deadlift is low relative to other lifts (I think, weak all over haha) because I suck at it, no other excuse unfortunately!

Nope, has traditionally been a bad lift for me. I’ve had a few niggles over the years that always affected it the most but they’re not to blame entirely for where my deadlift is at.

Third full body day in a row. Will be worth it having the weekend off. My sister and I are visiting my parents who are currentiy on vacation with their camper by a lake. I have the late shift today, will drive there on Saturday for my mum’s birthday, chill at the lake and drink beer all day and then drive back the next day for my shift on Sunday.

Notes:

  • I tried something different with rdls today. Instead of going for more of a stretch, I cut rom a few cm shorter than usual. I felt this way more in my glutes and upper hams than usual. Question: Which is more effective?
  • mayor progress is that I was able to train these three days in a row and while I’m obv. sore, my back and hip joints feel flawless!

I think whatever you’re trying to get out of them man, as in fixing a sticking point vs building up muscle in a particular area.

Nice box squats btw! 160kg 3x3 solid work. I think you’ve definitely got a 500 DL in you.

Having Deadlift as your weak lift always seems like a bum deal to me, having a mammoth is just awesome, probably my favourite lift to see massive lifts on. But we work with what we’ve got 225kg will be good when you get there!

Of course, listen to your coach first.

I would focus on keeping tension on your glutes and upper hams. Then gradually increase the ROM you can go through, While you keep that tension. Develop that posterior while you learn to hinge deeper with your hips instead of bending over, with your lower back.

Notes:

  • warm ups felt a little off tonight. Probably just the nerves. Back also feels slightly twisted due to the fucking air mattress (old man gainz).
  • misgrooved the first rep on set 2. Still all in all: 1x3 @ 200 kg is my best ever. 6 total, technically sound reps at only 2.5 kg less isn’t too shabby. Onwards and upwards Next two deadlift days I’ll be on vacation. So we can expect a bit more power.
  • not the best session but far from the worst
