How do I leg drive like u BigJerkDaddy to make big log press?

Would pause front squat half way down have utility? Mirrors ur jerk tekkers

Halfway down would already be too deep imo. But in general front squats absolutely should have carrryover

Most important thing is driving your knees outwards instead of forward so your feet stay planted until you reverse the motion. Your dip has to be vertical (hips stay under you and don’t get pushed backwards).
Think about pushing with your hips instead of your legs. Don’t stand too narrow. Shoulder width should work for most people.

The log is challenging to do any kind jerk with because of the diameter and balance. Still the dip and drive would apply the same if you chose to push press.

On the log you also want to get your elbows really high in the rack position (so you don’t lose the log forward when you dip). For that you need to cram ypur head back - look at ceiling. Lately I’ve been following Big Z’s advice and keep my eyes on the ceiling for the whole press.

Didn’t step on a scale in a minute.
It showed 122,4 kg which is a loss of 4 kg. 3 kg to what I would describe as my average over the last few months.

You outweigh me by almost exactly one unit of @anna_5588

Have been told it’s 110kg. My gym has quite a bit of stand or submit stuff yokes monster DBs loadable carry things and so on. The company is based in my state so they equip the strongman gyms as well as the stuff for the Arnold Australia. Their 75kg log is big enough for Instagram lol. It’s bigger than me dare I say taller as well.

02.07.

Lower back felt a little iffy this morning. Nothing specific. Not painful either.
Quads are trashed though!

1 box squats (as last time)
5 x 5 @ 135 kg

2 box jumps
5 x 3

3 step ups
4 x 6 @ 45 kg (each leg. Alternating)

4 strict press
3 x 8 @ 67,5 kg

5 hip thrust
4 x 8 @ 125 kg

6 lat pull down
4 x 12

Notes:

  • squats felt S.O. M.U.C.H. better than last week. Despite my quads trying to check out. Changed a few technical details and that payed off. Coach recommends foam rolling and stretching to cope with the quad fatigue. Need to set more time apart for that.
  • strict presses were pretty chill. A lot easier than I expected after the incline and db press fails.
  • I now have all the doctor appointments set up that I’ll immediatelly need for the tumor. Will report at the end of next week about how that went

Is there a scenario where I can convince my mom that I can go to the gym AND not die of Covid?

You should go to a cheese factory. Less covid dying there
