Per aspera ad astra (strongman Koestrizer)

A few months ago, I had a very scary dream about getting kidnapped, but the kidnapper “knocked me out” before I could “see” anything horrible happen.
Apparently, it’s possible to black out in a dream???

The worst feelings for me come after something really nice happens and I wake up disappointed

As a teenager and young adult, especially when I first started to develop serious depression, I would frequently dream about nearly surreal violence and gore. I was never into horror movies ot anything like that btw. What was disturbing about those dreams was, that I was usually the one inflicting violence.

Yesterday I was dreaming about my ex. And that was still a lot more disturbing and emotionally shattering.

I liked my first anti depressants in that regard - they usually had the effect that I wouldn’t dream at all. Like super rarely.

In that regard, I guess I’m lucky :man_shrugging:

Eh, I don’t know. You should talk to the happily married guys on the forum instead of the mentally ill ones about that topic, haha.

No-one ever made a film worth watching about a happy marriage.

Neither of my parents are mentally ill, but some of their fights are definitely nightmare worthy

@dagill2 tbh I can’t think of any movie about a marriage that is worth watching.

@anna_5588 Being mentally ill didn’t make my relationship worse. It poisens my point of view looking back.

Fighting isn’t per se unhealthy in a relationship. If it is the stuff of nightmares, then maybe their marriage isn’t happy. Which I don’t hope to be true. Then again, if two impulsive people clash for example, it might seem worse than it is from the outside. There isn’t much one as a spectactor can and should do about that (unless violence is involved).

All the best movies are, in fact, about failed relationships. Like Die Hard.

07.06.

2 hours of tennis.
That makes 4 strength sessions and 3 tennis sessions in one week. At this point you could basically sign me up for the ironman if I didn’t drink so much beer.

Maybe shoot for the wimbeldon first. All that strength will let you literally smash your opponents on the court :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Also, swimming technique is a pain and I’m not sure if tennis and strongman are specific enough

My swimming technique is definitely something else. I basically only use my upper body and let my legs dangle under me because I can’t quite lay flat in the water. I don’t drown… But you can’t really call what I do “swimming” either.

yeah, that tends to happen to people who squat and deadlift too much
Who could have guessed blocks of dense meat don’t float very well :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I am no expert, but I am pretty sure tennis is the exact opposite of awesome manly strength.

You underestimate tennis mate!
Alao it’s more about doing cardio and shit and doing so much sport!

Yeah, I was teasing anyway. If you gotta do cardio, do it in the form of some kind of sport. And if you can’t find a sport, then I suppose tennis will do, lol.

You cheeky bastard!

As you get over 40 tennis is a major cause of torn Achilles and calf. I am scared to play tennis :joy:

I must say it’s demanding on anything surrounding the ankles. Also surprisingly on the lower back (because of the rotation) if played in high frequency.

Well… he still has 15 or so years to go…why put him down? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Just telling him what delights he can expect as he matures.
