Not gonna lie, I catch myself often wondering how much more muscle and strength I would have gained if it wasn’t for this or if I had a real therapy for it etc.
Slept wrong on my shoulder last night, so that thing aches a bit.
Other than that I actually had to appear at work today because we are getting ready to re open again.
In the afternoon I started painting grandma’s old appartment. Not all rooms need new paint, so I’m guessing maybe 5 hours tomorrow and I’m done.
I might grant myself an extra day off tomorrow but that’s not deciced yet. Faather’s day is on Thursday and even though we can’t follow the usual tradition due to Covid regulations, I will get together with some mates to drink all day.
So that’s something to keep in mind for the training schedule.

This one is not universal in Germany but rather popular in northern Germany and especially Lower Saxony (which is not the south part of Saxony but a federal state. I just wanted to add that because every time I have used that, people from Germany got confused because they didn’t know that’s the actual translation, haha).
You meet up with other men (women also meet up, some go mixed but it’s mostly done by men) early, like 8-9 am, you have one or several handcarts, loaded with a grill and huge amounts of beer and some booze and then you go on a hike and get shitfaced. All German traditions have to include drinking obviously ![]()
We usually get super crafty with the handcarts and even built one with a roof, an extendable awning, included grill and bar. The axis broke twice on the tour but that thing was a magnificent beast!
@anna_5588 as my fellow countryman already said: No Wiesn this year ! I don’t live in Munich anymore, so I’m pretty unphased.
I know you meant know harm but since visiting Germany is on your bucket list, I feel obligated to tell you that a remark like that could trigger a rather hostile response… Presumably no country is as aware of it’s dark parts of history as Germany is and/ or/ but most of us don’t take jokes in that regard lightheartedly.

Good cardio event for sure as experienced athlete’s tour can last from 9 am to 3 am (at least that’s what I remember as our longest tour).
I’ve always been interested in wwii and the ussr (applies to university as a Russian studies major)

Oh wow I definitely feel the piled up fatigue. I was hoping I could push back the deload one more week but now I think I might be better off just doing the deload next week.

- no structure particularely hurts but muscles are very fatigued.
- top set was disappointing. I wanted 6. Plus I ended up in a standing incline position with my last rep. I can’t allow that to happen.
- paused back off sets on the other hand were surprisingly good. Elbows pissed to the max.
- I’ll deload next week and then keep on going. I’m near the end of this peak phase, so I will have to accept that shit is hard and hurts.
- cut today pretty short and toom it easy after the main stuff. No reason to kick the one who is down, eh?
- I’ll still end on a positive note: If I am able to get 5 reps with 120 kg on a very subpar day for heavy work, I seem to be on the right way. That’s still 89% of my current and 86% of my desired 1 RM.
