Per aspera ad astra (strongman Koestrizer)

I am very proficient in self destruction.

I was trying to squeeze a small empty tuna can into a big empty tomatoe can. At first it wouldn’t fit, so I applied a little (too much) pressure. The can suddenly shot in and my hands still pressing downwards were suddenly and pretty violently introduced to the edges of the tomatoe can. Those aren’t sharp but with enough force, one who is proficient in self destruction, can cut up his hands pretty fucking deep.
Left hand only got a small cut but it was deep enough that the surgeon wanted to stitch it.
Right hand looked pretty gross and wouldn’t stop bleeding (probably cut a vein, he said). That one got a few more stitches.

No loss of feeling or movement in any of my fingers but right hand is pretty fucked to use.

Sorry to hear about this Koes! Wish you a speedy recovery.

Belt squats a possibility?

Thanks. Well the surgeon said after three days I should be able to do all the things. I am a little dubious about that tbh. The threads are going to be removed in twelve days. May own plan is to chill for a week and then see where my hand is at and if I can train again.

F’cks sake K, those cans are pretty sharp.
A few weeks ago I managed to give myself a tiny cut myself on one of those cans. Not needing any attention. I can truly understand what happened at your place.
I hope you’ll recover quickly K.

Wassup with ur back. I’ve tuned in late but r u coming back from an injury?

@mortdk thanks man, yeah those cans are motherfuckers!

@guineapig actually two. One happened originally when I passed out briefly on a farmer’s pick (injured my lower back) and the other was a pretty intense (but after physio treatment) short injury of my SI joints.

I mean, why?! What was so important about wedging one tin in another?

Fucking unlucky.

That sucks man but part of the game I guess. I was out last year with my back also so I think I can relate. U scared of reinjuring?

Believe me, I have since regretted that decision.

From what I’ve read so far you had it far worse than I.
I try not to overthink it. I don’t think I’m scared per se but I’d certainly like to avoid an injury like that in the future.
The SI thing I am not scared anymore. I’ve injured that area a few times already (although not as bad as last time) but given how quick the rehab for that was, I know I’ll be fine.

Also as the days goes on I realize more and more how unlucky it is to have two fucked hands. The left is pretty useable but the right one is trashed in terms of gripping stuff and so on. Day to day stuff is weird when you’re right handed and have to rely on your left hand for nearly everything, all while the left hand is also kinda fucked

While it is best not to hurt yourself at all, if you are going to hurt yourself, it’s best to do it in a) a not-too-serious way and b) a hilarious way.

Happy you achieved both.

Indeed, new injury PR time.

I’ll make it easy- the perp was a felon with multiple violent crimes under his belt and knife was 9in stainless steel.

Wish you a speedy recovery!

It might even have been a two hand sword! Basically I’m a great warrior, is what I want to say.

And thanks

Those are legal in Germany?

A lot of weapons are illegal in the states but some states sell automatic rifles in supermarkets… logic…

Haha no, not even carrying a fixed blade is legal here. So basically no knive besides a swiss army knive.

I hear Americans are very delicate about their guns, so I should probably not state my opinion on the matter all to drastically. Which I can’t. So I won’t state it at all, haha

As a wwii nerd, I want a real panzerfaust and red army anti tank rifle (circa 1944)

Well I guess Murica is the way to go then :person_shrugging:. You wouldn’t want to be caught in posession of that kind of stuff around here. Especially if it has Nazi symbols on it. That would probably be worse than having deadly weapons in the eyes of the law and overwheimg majority of public opinion.

Fun fact, here in the ACT I can own a crossbow provided it was made before 1900.
