Hi Coach, I have this version of the pec deck machine in my home gym and I am considering replacing it with a cable crossover. Would you consider this version of the pec deck machine, an effective machine in relation to it’s other counterparts or the cable crossover?
Well, the cable cross-over offers a lot more options. Not only in changing the angle for pectoral work but by allowing you to do al ot more exercises.
If I have the choice between the two I am going with the cross-over station.
A crossover setup is sooooooo much better. Being able to cross your arms over each other, being able to change angles, mechanical dropsets (ex. flys to failure, switching to cable chest press to failure), supersets (ex. Cable y raises and cable lateral Raises), isolation work (one arm cable extensions and cable curls), the possibilities are endless.
So yeah, if money isn’t the mitigating factor and you’re asking if a cable setup will give you more options and the potential for a better workout, the answer is unequivocally yes.
