You can see it in Iraq.

My favorite:

“Give me an army of West Point grads, and I will win a battle. Give me a handful of Texas Aggies and I’ll win a war.”

Can we infer from this quote that the USA is the most clueless nation of the last century?

“We’re not going to just shoot the bastards, we’re going to rip out their living Goddamned guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We’re going to murder those lousy cocksuckers by the bushel!”

“I looooove your wallpaper. It really makes the other colors in the room pop. Just fabulous!”

Hmm. No, doesn’t seem right. Maybe that was someone else.

Context - Patton is talking about fighting a war. We can thus infer your cluelessness as to how they’re won.

That Patton quote is my favorite.

It took a very special country to produce such a great man as the General. He was a true and pure warrior, produced by the noblest and most moral society in the history of the world. Only the United States of America could produce men such as this.

Most other countries produce appeasing rodents, who cower at a raised voice. America produces MEN.

I thank God for the gift of being born in America, an honor I couldn’t have possibly deserved.

Hey stupidass, he was talking about military tactics, not foreign policy.

Fuck off already.

What fucking planet do you live on? No one else has ever been a warrior?

Ghengis Khan? Napoleon? Cincinnatus? Churchill? There’ve been plenty of tough men that came from other countries, and were noble (The last two on this list especially).

You are exactly what is wrong with this country with your constant dicksucking of what this great American ideal you have that is rarely realized in any reality.

No, evidently you don’t, because I always thought Americans should have more than half their wits about them. ALthough nowadays I strongly doubt even that.

By the way BB, great list of quotes. The man was a fighter no doubt.

America is winning the war in Iraq.

Admittedly, mismanagement and a policy that emphasized killing the enemy rather than building trust and security with the local nationals, set us back and seriously prolonged the fight.
And perhaps when all is said and done even the fruits of victory will be like ashes in our mouths.

However, national security forces are on their feet, doing joint operations and in some cases completely independent. The economy is growing and refugees are returning. We are on the way to a stable middle-eastern republic in which we will have a secure military foothold. Mission accomplished.

Like it or love it, Petreus knows what he’s doing.

My point is that we should have done it sooner. We tried yet another PC war - i.e. fight a nice war. It should have been much more swift and much much more severe. We should have sealed the border with Syria, and shot every thing that crossed.

I think Patreus maybe the only leader we’ve had that actually saw what needed to be done, and executed. And that was about 3 years after the fact.

Only Cincinnatus in the list was worthy of respect. Churchill was a criminal, who admitted in his diary that he suckered the Germans into attacking the USA, thus bringing us into the war (WWI). Napolean had an opportunity to make France a great nation and instead chose to murder his neighbors.

America is actually the ONLY moral country ever purposely created. Americans were the first to understand that your life belongs to YOU, not to the government, the king, or the herd. Only when we began to copy the Europeans, especially adopting altruism as our morality, did we begin to suck. Hillary or Barack will probably complete the transformation — then I will agree with you, that America sucks donkey balls.

Funny that both of you flag-worshipping rednecks can’t even spell the general’s name correctly.
