Damn, Dixie, I thought the 100 lateral raises were bullshit. I looked up Meadow’s shoulder philosophy Shoulder Training: The Mountain Dog Way

The super high rep is actually what he says to do! So, I start doing the 100 lateral raises, I may add some bent lateral raises for rear delt work too. Just to make those muscles realize they exist, I don’t think I’ve ever given them a reason to live.

The training was only shitty in the sense that it wasn’t what I had planned, and I was in a raging bitch mood. It’s been a bit of a discussion in Nadia’s log, but I don’t like to lift angry/cranky. It just doesn’t feel right.

I’ve been reading a lot on the methodology and history of science, and this quote totally just tickled me “Lakatos offers words that sound like the elements of a methodology; he does not offer a methodology.” via Feyerabend ← Academic insults, gotta love them.

(\aside) that sound like my goals are performance based, I’m starting to realize that I don’t really train like I’m performance based. While of course I want to be a BAMF and will always have that as an umbrella goal (who doesn’t?), I think I’ve just been afraid of embracing that my efforts are straight up physique right now.

I have a look I want, and I think for a while I’m just going to embrace that it’s what I’m going for. I haven’t worked through what that means for me yet. It probably won’t change anything other than the paradigm I’m functioning through, but I think the paradigm does need to change.

You can have some of my boob, if you take bits from other places as well. I think the ‘skirt’ is a belly dancing skirt and wouldn’t actually be that hard to find. I’ll find one if you’ll come over and try it on for me :slight_smile:

AM -
Spin!
Then I did the running yoga flow. Spin + Running is really tightening up my hips. I’m going to have to pay attention to that!

PM - Awesome work out, I only had 45min to be in the gym and I think the hustle was just what I needed. I need to start training like time is an issue.

10 min jump rope - Getting better, less breaks, though I’m still at two hops for every rope pass, and did hit myself a bunch. I had some nice red rope marks on my arms, next time I’ll take pictures.

DB Walking Lunges - 20lb x 12 steps x5
Since I killed my grip the day before, I instead just thought about driving through heel and working my legs. Thinking about a part, really does seem to make it work harder.

Push Ups off bench - 5 x 6
Super happy with these, since I did them the day before I wasn’t sure, but I knocked them out. The last two sets were kinda like 5 then 1, but not enough of a delay to make it an issue.

RDLs - 135x5x6
Woo! 135! I had to go with the mixed grip, but it felt way better this time. I took all your advices and tried to implement them. Hal’s presenting tip lead to a row of teenage boys doing curls behind me for the last 2 sets, so I guess I was doing it right?

Lat Raises - 2lbs x 100
Not 100 in a row non stop, but apparently they’re super high rep for a reason. Thanks for that Dixie.

I didn’t do the wall sits, I have to see what’s up with them, I tried one and my knee felt like exploding.

Overall, got done in 45min. Left feeling like a boss!

I mean srsly of COURSE I always want to be on my progression and I lift 5 3 1 and as heavy as I can to get stronger BUT ALSO for physique and if it comes down to a choice which it ultimately does at SOME point on a diet… I’m going for my LOOK. DOAN CARE!
