Paper for Class: Hellenistic Age

Ivan, you’re absolutely right about that, my mistake…I totally forgot about that.

At any rate, I tried to link Caesar’s civil war with Pompey to his installment of Cleopatra as ruler of Egypt. I believe Caesar and Cleopatra had a child, so there was certainly an affinity. I guess I overstepped the Alexandrian civil war and focused on something that I was more comfortable with speaking about, which was Cleopatra’s involvement in future Roman events.

ok well you guys have given some solid info so thanks but i just wanna get it all narrowed down and straight one time. i have to give my professor an outline of what im gonna talk about. so i guess could you guys sum up “caesars role in the alexandrian war” with like 5 or so bullet points then i can be on my way and be done with bothering you guys. thanks

i found the fact that you referred to him as an opportunistic monarch interesting and something which can be expanded well (its a 10 page paper btw). i was just wondering if you could explain briefly what it is that makes him so opportunistic at the time?

ok i’ve done a lot better to narrow down my topic but for those of you who are in fact knowledgeable and have helped me out so far, i wanna discuss how caesar stood to benefit from cleopatra being power in egypt. basically why was this better for him and rome, or if she wasn’t in power and Ptolemy continued to rule, how would this have negatively affected caeaar and rome?
