Brickhead, do you even workout?
Same with Iron Dwarf. Not meaning to be rude, these are just things I have always wondered when reading your posts.
k thanks bai <3
Yes, I do work out and have been following bodybuilding for 16 years.
Continue to wonder.
Also, I’d like you to re-post something I’ve said that would raise the suspicion of not being involved in lifting and nutrition. Also, please explain how pointing out glaringly deformed physiques indicates someone might not be involved.
Thanks.

Post one of your pics man… I think even a relaxed shot would shut em’ up

Thanks.
I dunno man… I rejoined this forum and agreed to be on my best behavior and act kindly to people, even if disagreeing or debating, or at least not go overboard. I can understand someone not liking some posts here or the thread itself; if that’s the case, fine; say so and maybe even explain why. But I don’t understand the why a rude comment directed at me was made or a question of if I lift or not, especially considering I’ve lifted with people from this board and one VERY popular poster is my neighbor and I have attended a show of his as well as that of another poster and was considering competing myself this coming Spring til some things in my life started interfering.
The post thread was not made to ridicule competitors (some of whom I highly looked up to as a youngster), but rather to discuss a disturbing phenomenon in a culture I’ve followed for a long time. Hence why I posted “The 90’s” thread, because I think that was the last era in which the aesthetics and best of the genetic pool was present.
My friend, some folks are just that way; and in no way am I implying it is wrong. Heck, all of us are prone to bursts of communication that is mixed with belligerence towards statements or opinions we disagree with. On the internet, it is very easy to be blunt and respond with bravado, especially to things one disagrees with. The art of debate these days often is done at the lower baser levels…maybe because oftentimes it is too much trouble to do it any other way!
Part of the territory…we need to have thicker skin methinks. It’s amazing…sometimes you meet folks who were belligerent or “rude” to you over the phone, and when you finally meet them, they are the coolest people! I think this is particularly true of people on the internet as well. Example: some will read Prof. X’s posts and get offended by his straight talk and perceived vitriol…but I have a feeling if one ever met him, he would be a hoot and one of the coolest guys one could meet.
Thanks a lot for the thoughtful post.
It dawned on me some time ago: why the heck would I want negativity associated with what supposed to be an enjoyable hobby? Some disagreements and challenges and bickering aren’t harmful, but I don’t think rude comments are cool or funny anymore. In my immature days, I did; now I don’t, like REALLY DON’T.
I too think X is probably an alright guy in real life despite his posts sometimes mildly vexing me (not a big deal).
You’re right, communicating in a diplomatic way (even when disagreeing way) is more difficult than cheapshots. Easier to say something rude than say, “Look man, I dunno why you made this thread. What’s it for? I find it offensive because…”
off topic but looking good in the new avi brick.
Thanks for the kind words!
