I never once made a claim about what our immigration policy should be.
Haha, fair play on this one. Does sound like a typical deadbeat guy who spends too much time on Twitter or whatever. But I haven’t had a roommate since my 20s, I’m excited to buy a home with some property when my wife and I return to the States in a few years, and like I said… really not a lefty guy. I’ve actually voted Libertarian in every election since I was 18, if you can buy that.
I will admit I have no knowledge of this either direction. But in that case I see the need. A formula shortage for US mothers doesn’t strike me as a dire situation either for that matter. Breast milk is healthier, you can pump, latch problems can be resolved with effort. But I could get into this which is off topic as much as I hate the 30-40% c-section rate in the USA. None of it is necessary but… hey… first world problems am I right?
This is getting way off topic, but have you done any reading about how breastfeeding literally shapes the soft palate and potentially the sinuses, leading to a life-long decrease in ear and sinus infections, lower incidence of speech impediments, and a reduced risk of habitual mouth breathing? This is in addition to any nutritional superiority of breastmilk over formula.
I of course feel for women who struggle to or are unable to breastfeed for whatever reason. But maybe a silver lining of this shortage is more kids getting breastfed. In which case… its not all bad.
Sneak into Mexico, Europe, Netherlands, Russia, China, Japan, etc and demand to be taken care of financially and housed - let us know how that goes for you.
Let me know if it works. Should we set up a thread over there?
May take a while:
This isn’t a quick thing, though. She says that it will take the dad-to-be the full 9 months for the breast tissue to change and become ready.
Objective: Our report describes a case of nonpuerperal induced lactation in a transgender woman.
Methods: We present the relevant clinical and laboratory findings, along with a review of the relevant literature.
Results: A 30-year-old transgender woman who had been receiving feminizing hormone therapy for the past 6 years presented to our clinic with the goal of being able to breastfeed her adopted infant. After implementing a regimen of domperidone, estradiol, progesterone, and breast pumping, she was able to achieve sufficient breast milk volume to be the sole source of nourishment for her child for 6 weeks. This case illustrates that, in some circumstances, modest but functional lactation can be induced in transgender women.
No but I came here by choice, not out of desperation. If you’re asking whether or not I would break a law if I felt like it was the only way I could provide for my family and give them a shot at a good life, the answer is yes.
Does this happen often? With immigrants to the US, I mean. Most of the illegal immigrants I knew were working crazy hours in restaurant kitchens or doing backbreaking manual labor to earn a living. This might just be selection bias based off of some of the lousy jobs I’ve worked in my life though…
Really? Serious question, not being argumentative. I just assumed that c-sections were only done if necessary. My mom was in labor with me for like 24 hours and the doctor ordered a c-section cause I wasn’t coming out, then for her next four kids, she was just told at the beginning of the pregnancy that they’d have to do the c-section again.
I have worked some very shitty jobs too in my tenure.
Working or not - they still need financial assistance when first arriving.
And lets be honest the people with skills and means are not fleeing their countries. Those coming in illegally are mostly the dregs and castoffs from the country they are fleeing with no skills and will be a drain to the society they go to.
We are also one of the only nations in the world where you can cross our border and drop out a kid and the kid is a US citizen.
Anywhere else your child would still be a citizen of the country you hail from and would not be given automatic citizenship. Anchor babies are a real problem.
