Amazing.
I still have that whole series on tape somewhere in my basement. I love my telescope:)
I had it set up last summer and was letting my neibhors check out a couple planets. Two or three of them had never looked through one before…they are in their forties, WTF!
I’m not saying they’re idiots, I just thought it was weird. Even a shit pair of bino’s will show some detail. One of them went out and bought a telescope the next week and thanked me for getting him interested in it.
useless knowledge fact: the Subaru emblem on the front grill of their vehicles is from the star cluster Pleides.
wow…nice vid, the monotone was a bit much but powerful message…ITS FUCKING DEPRESSING THATS WHAT!
Also, I have never looked through a telescope.

I’m curious. How is it depressing? To me it illustrates the scarcity of hospitable planets, highlighting just how lucky we are to be alive.
Life is precious my friend, enjoy it.
Looks like we’re getting tired of being helpless after all…
holy fuck, thanks for ruining my damn day. Depressing shit. I couldn’t watch the whole thing.

I didn’t think it was depressing at all…I thought described the amazingly complex and fragile piece of rock that we call home.

I definitely took the message a different way then.

Sure did.
Do you realize just how lucky you are to be alive?
Hi, just jumping in on page two to wonder who was the first person in the thread to say something like " Now we can see how insignificant we are."
There’s one in every thread about space.

If you want to see your insignificance, just look up at night.
To see yours, just look down in the morning.
I’m sorry, but you set the up for me so well you’d think we’d planned it!
