I stumbled across this pic and figured this was worth a bump.
As I’ve said previously, this movie sounds entertaining enough as long as you’ve never heard of Craig Titus, then it just gets a little creepy.
I think Anthony Mackie has gotten overlooked in this flick. Him and Wahlberg are actually playing the two “real life” bodybuilder-killer guys. I haven’t found any real person that Rock’s character is based on, but based on the BBQ pic, I’m gonna have to guess he’s definitely a member of “the sun gym gang.”

In the documentary of the case, there are three main guys involved in the kidnap-murders. The Rock plays Adrian Doorbal, who is the token muscle of the group. He was the guy who killed one of the victims by overdosing them on horse tranquilizer in an attempt to calm them down.

IMDB lists Mackie as playing Doorbal and Rock as playing Paul Doyle. Anyhow, they’ve definitely tweaked some aspects of the story so it isn’t mirroring the exact case point-for-point.
As for the above pic, in case it wasn’t clear, this movie is definitely set in Miami.

I was going by a very early report that The Rock was Doorbal. Made sense as Mackie was cast very shortly before filming and Wahlberg and Johnson were involved through development . I’m open to Mackie playing Doorbal though,as I’m not an ‘insider’ and yeah, I agree that Bay is unlikely to stick to the facts.

LOL @ “Bay” and “Facts” being used in the same sentence.
I’ll watch just to see exactly what Bay’s definition of a low budget character-driven story is.
Most directors have a camera shot as their calling card: Bay’s trademark now seems to be casting a supermodel in place of an actress. Instead of scaling it back, he’s hired two hotties fresh off the catwalk and placed them in key roles.
Not that I’m complaining, but nor should he when people accuse him of being all style and no substance.
…and I predict at least one slo-mo walk away from an exploding building or car.
