Pacquiao v. Mayweather

Funny how Pacquiao fans want the fight and Mayweather fans don’t. Even ESPN was saying how Pacquiao fans are blowing up the web about a Pacquiao vs Maybweather fight, and Mayweather fans are in a middle ground because Floyd isn’t about the sport but about the “check cashing biz.” I don’t think that Pacquiao needs this fight as much as Mayweather needs it. And although Mayweather has proven to be a great boxer, if he never fights Manny, people will forget about him and Pacquiao will just get bigger.[/quote]

I’m pretty neutral in this, but you can’t expect Floyd to get fucked in negotiations. Floyd just isn’t going to allow himself to get the smaller splits, agree to a catchweight, and let Roach/Arum make all the decisions. Boxing is the sport with the biggest egos, and Floyd has the biggest ego. You think he’s not going to say “I’m undefeated, I’ve a bigger draw, Arum doesn’t like me, this fight doesn’t matter…” and countless other things to not take the fight? Unless they actually try to negotiate I think Pacquiao will be fighting the winner of Mosley/Berto.

Pacquiao and Mayweather need each other.

Yup.

The negotiations are starting.

Floyd wants the fight, Manny wants the fight. The president of HBO sports has already said they’ll treat it as the superbowl of boxing, so this will be monumental. I’d really like to see Dana White go head to head with this on PPV.

I’m looking forward to this fight, despite the fact that my man Shane Mosley never got the superfight he deserved. Now he’s going to have to fight a dangerous competitor for peanuts. sigh…

Hopefully the winner of Mayweather/Pacquiao fights him, even if the loser fights him I’ll be happy.

yea they’re starting and big problems already. gayweather is being himself asking for a much larger purse. …as much as i hate him he probably does deserve a bigger purse as he probably does draw a bigger audience. i care not though im just glad to see gayweather fight somebody who could hurt him for once in the last 7 years.

Pacquiao Cotto outsold Mayweather Marquez.

well damn. then his demands might wind up being a problem in negotiation.

Mayweather has outsold Pacquiao too. When it comes down to it they’re the two biggest names in boxing, both of them have a large draw. Personally I think they should split it 50/50 but I’m sure both think they deserve the extra 10% more than the other one.

It would be great if they could split it 45 each and the winner takes the remaining 10. Of course, that would never happen.

Mainly because of DLH, if you think it was all Floyd you’re high.

I’ve never said it was all Floyd. Floyd does however have a draw, a significant enough draw not to have a lower split imposed on him. It seems like both want 60/40, they’ll need to lower their expectations.

Ok so go ahead explain why Floyd/Hatton out sold Pacuiao/Hatton? and if u think Pac/delahoya was big because of Pac, then ur smoking Mannys Cock

Explain why Cotto Pacman outsold Mayweather Marquez. Marquez has way more fans than Cotto bud. Hatton had a huge draw in the Mayweather Hatton fight. They both sell, but to think one significantly outdoes the other is stupid. At this point Pacman is a bigger draw, maybe not a few months ago but now he is.

Mayweather finally finishes an interview, even though he talks his way around most the questions.

Part 2.

ra is one of the doppest rappers ever. props. anyway yea i just made a thread on floyd from vinnie paz’s point of view. glad to hear me and the circle of boxers i talk to are not the only ones thinking this about gayweather.

i know i am late to this dance. but here is my take. pacman had a lot of trouble with Marquez. Marquez is a counter puncher. think of floyd as a bigger, faster, younger, stronger, and better Marquez. does anybody here actually think pacman can beat PBF? the only x factor i see here is floyd’s skills may be diminishing a little, i know he looked great against Marquez, but he is a smaller and older fighter.

the other is pacman seems to be getting better each fight lately. how much better he can get before getting in the ring with pbf i dont know.

i will personally be putting money on pacman…
