Anyone else notice the visible split between Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao?

I think the Hatton fight was his high water mark. He will be brought down to earth by Cotto.

I wouldn’t even really call it a split, just preferences. At the end of the day he’ll listen to Roach, but you can’t blame the guy for voicing his opinions on how he wants camp to go.

Anyway, this will be a good fight. One thing is for sure though; no KO for Manny lol.

Cotto’s always had a suspect chin so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get KO’d. The question is how good is Manny’s chin when Cotto catches him.

LOL. No way. And Cotto, though he’s been hurt, has never been KO’d, even by Margo who had bricks in his gloves. That’s ridiculous.

Who’s laughing now? Pac is for real! He made the top welterweight look like a chump!

We want Floyd!!! We want Floyd!!!

Off by 1. Not bad.

reading this thread after watching the fight has made me laugh pretty hard. some of you guys are complete morons who try to be know it alls.

Gotta give Cotto credit though. He showed tons of heart and a great chin for taking so many shots. Now Pac can fight Floyd and retire. Nothing else to prove.

lol can’t believe bayless stopped it when he did, manny didn’t even catch him.

anyway, i thought it’d go to UD. I had Cotto winning, but Pacquiao surprised me. i think his biggest advantage at this weight is his speed, he can get some good angles.

Apparently Cotto told his corner to stop the fight in the eleventh but changed his mind.

I guess it could’ve gone on till the end but Cotto was just running the last two rounds. He was just taking too many shots to the head. Manny didn’t even seem like he wanted to hit him.

on top rank ppv it just looked like they were waiting for the stool, i was surprised when they said he was trying to stop it.

i don’t know if it’s Cotto’s trainer or what, but it seemed like he really had no strategy at all or tried to follow any strategy. i seen him using the jab in the first round and thought he looked good, then he didn’t really do anything.

now it’ll hopefully be mayweather/pacquiao, i really hope floyd loses so he’ll finally shut up.

Cotto was looking good early on with the jab, but then he seemed to get overwhelmed by the speed. Manny started to open some cracks in his defense.

Floyd needs to fight Pac or at least Cotto or the Berto/Mosely winner. Anything other than those isn’t good enough.

What would Floyd do if he loses. Excuses galore is my guess.

Well his dad is already saying Pac is on roids.

“I’M STILL UNDEFEATED BABY, THAT SHIT DON’T COUNT!” Caps lock for added emphasis.

what i’m really waiting on is PPV numbers, that’s all i’ve really wanted to see tonight. i wonder if this card or ufc did better? speaking of the card, the top rank commentators were saying some funny shit about yuri foreman. at one point they said “the Foreman family thinks of him as the 7th George Foreman.”.

Heh, have just come back from my local sports bar. Every Filipino in Dubai was inside. Some moments are just golden and there’s no putting them into words. There’s gonna be some love, lechon and tanduay flowing tonight!

p.s. one puerto rican in the crowd. What he was doing over here I have no idea but sometimes, just sometimes, a man got to give a man a hug…

TKO
I know you saw Manny give two legit knockdowns to a Cotto that hasn’t ever really been hurt before.
I was just hoping that Cotto would stop running for 6 rounds and Pacman could get a KO. A TKO was good enough.
I was pretty damn impressed with Manny, even though I thought he was in trouble early.
Now i’m waiting for FightinIrish to give him some credit, and hopefully say he was “supremely impressed” with tonight’s performance.

they were legit knockdowns, but they were flash knockdowns.

First was a flash knockdown, thought he lost his balance for a second. The second knockdown was legit, perfect uppercut.

FightinIrish yo boy got whop again!

you must be hurtin’ right now, eh?

Damn Cotto…Good on Manny, i like both fighters a lot. Just wanted a better performance by Cotto just cause of the hard shit he’s been goin through…I wonder if that Margarito fight really did do him in like many of the pro’s/experts of boxing said. Bernard Hopkins said himself that Cotto aint right in the mind after that fight with Margarito…which just disgusts me…lots of people said that fight ruined Cotto’s career.

Cotto didn’t look the same to me in the Clottey fight either.
Anyways Manny proved to everyone he the best. Manny vs. Mayweather…hope to see this happen!

Arreola (sp) gonna be fighting soon as well, anyone pumped for that?
