Pacquiao Cotto 24-7

wut do u guys think about joe santiago? how big of an impact will him being “green”, have on the fight? Roach seems to think its a big deal…although freddy likes to play head games.

one more thing…i like how santiago struck back by simply saying, “freddy makes a habit of talking bad about his opponents trainer”. Simple classy and says who gives a fuck wut freddy roach thinks.

well if you knew that the fuck you were talking about, you wouldn’t get ever prediction wrong… delahoya is gonna destroy pacman… hatton is gonna destroy pacman… cotto is gonna destroy pacman… come on dude your always wrong… give up… manny is on an unstoppable tear…

Hey dick, DLH SHOULD have destroyed him. Hatton was a fight that I thought could go either way. This is neither of those.

btw … this thread has been a good read… [/quote]

No thanks to you, asshole.

that’s all roach is doing; playing games. santiago hasn’t been head trainer but he’s been training Cotto for a while now, he was assistant coach to Cotto’s uncle. He has known Cotto for like 8 years too. being head coach is different than assistant, but he probably knows Cotto well enough and knows enough about training to handle things.

I’m not a big fan of Freddy Roach. He’s a great trainer, but he’s a huge dick.

Fact is, some guys can train and some guys can’t. Roach was a crap fighter, but he’s a great trainer. Calzaghe’s dad never boxed before in his life, but ended up being a pretty damn good trainer. You never know.

But, he can’t be worse than Evangelista. Cotto was more or less training himself for the past couple years, so a better relationship with Santiago can only benefit him in the long run.

Anyone else notice the visible split between Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao?

I think the Hatton fight was his high water mark. He will be brought down to earth by Cotto.

I wouldn’t even really call it a split, just preferences. At the end of the day he’ll listen to Roach, but you can’t blame the guy for voicing his opinions on how he wants camp to go.

Anyway, this will be a good fight. One thing is for sure though; no KO for Manny

Cotto’s always had a suspect chin so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get KO’d. The question is how good is Manny’s chin when Cotto catches him.

Cotto has a suspect chin? give me an example of this please?

Anyway this is gonna be a great fight and i’m really excited to see Cotto fighting back on the stage he belongs.

I’m psyched for this fight. I think Manny’s the more talented fighter, but Cotto is bigger and seems more focused. Man, I really think the phrase “got that look in his eyes” really applies here.

I like both fighters, but will probably be rooting for Cotto. However, I think Manny will win. I would take the 3 to 1 odds and bet on Cotto, but if you put a gun to my head and I head to bet my life on the outcome, I would say that Manny wins a decision.

My prediction: Manny wins the first few rounds on speed, Cotto recovers and evens the fight up in the middle, but as the fight wears down and both get a little tired, Manny will start slipping rights through the hole in the middle of Cotto’s guard and take the final few rounds to get a close decision.

Im sticking with Cotto by KO in round 9…Cotto will give manny bodyshots from hell, thats another thing i like about Cotto he hits everything, arms, shoulders, forearms…even though its not the body or head, after awhile that shit starts to hurt, and i think that will bring down Manny.

I guess it was suspect when he was fighting at light welterweight, but it’s gotten a lot a better as he’s moved up to welterweight.

But like alot of people said if its a close decision, the “money” wont let Manny lose, which will suck if Cotto desrves it

With how big this fight is on the grand scale of things, a decision blatantly in favor of Pac because of his potential drawing power could ruin the sport.

I hope these fucking judges have emptied their pockets and are really watching the bout.

My money is on pac. A lot of people don’t believe that Manny has proved anything in his last fights… I agree with them. But I think he is going to prove something in this one. Just got that gut feeling.

Less than 5 hours to go! The last time I was this nervous was when Pac fought Morales the first time, and we know how that turned out.

Cotto has me fucking scared! He’s not gonna be slow and drained like DLH, he coming in at 155+, and in his prime!

I’ll stand by my prediction:
Pac by majority decision

or

Cotto by KO

Fight nights make my days reeeally long.
I’m still taking Pac Man in this fight.
FightinIrish… If Pacquaio can get a W, or can go the distance with Cotto, will you finally give the man some credit?

I know you say good things about him, but you haven’t picked him to win any of his recent fights and you come up with excuses for the opposing fighter when he does win.
Honestly, i’m not trying to sound like a dick.
You’re going with Cotto in this one, but do you see anything that will hinder his performance?

I think that this has the potential to be a great fight and I can see chances for either guy to take it. I like manny as a fighter but I hope Cotto takes it just because of the the bullshit 145 weight limit. Either fight at welterweight or cut the extra seven ponds and fight jr. welter. Making someone fight you for a welterweight title below the weight limit is fucking bullshit.

I was questioning Cotto’s comeback until the Clottey fight, he did well though so I can’t think of any problems with him.
