You going to own that 225 squat very, very soon. Nice job breaking through the plateau!
No fright or hind sight,
leaving behind that empty feeling inside.
Lots of good stuff going on in here.
sheepish look What are b/o DB rows?
Congrats on the squat PR, I’m glad you took that active recovery incline bench day to feel your best for the squats.

b/o = bent over dumbell rows right?
here’s our buddy Arnold demonstrating…
Are you competing? You have some pretty stellar numbers.
Thank you. No meets on the horizon now. There’s one in my league December 11th that I thought about but its right around finals and about a 4 hour drive. Would be super inconvenient. I probably won’t be doing anything until next year.
Bench:
barx10
95x5
115x3x2
130x8x3
130x9-dug deep, was a grinder. lol, funny story, I had my chin tucked a bit into my chest and felt my mp3 player(which was clipped on my t shirt) on my chin and thought it was my rock hard pec lol. Gave me the confidence to go for an extra rep.
Dips
bwx10x5, got 11 on last set, was the slowest bodyweight dip ever!
I know I should be adding weight, but these were hard enough as it was after benching.
Great stuff on the benching… Yea dips are tough tough after benching. I found to really improve on my dips i had to move them to a different day about 2 or 3 days after my bench day.

hahahaha
YOU JERK!!! look at your benching! ARRRRRRGGHHH!!!
and congrats!! my god!!!
yowch! My uppa back. Is tight. Gave it some tennis ball attention. Having a sore, tight upper back is a sure sign of hard work for me because it usually NEVER gets sore and recovers really quickly. I think my back in general was a bit undertrained as of late. My erectors and upper back are adapting to the increased workload.
Squats:
barx10
115x8
135x6
155x5
185x3
185x5
205x5x5
Glute bridges
240x8x3-bumpin it up. Might take it back down next week and use more reps
leg press
leg extensions
Thought about deloading today because I’m having a female biological function which brings increased soreness for me especially in my back legs and hips (my squatters lol). Thought, nah, if I can do this this week, I can do it any week! (Or save that deload for a day I am actually crapping out really hard)
nice bridges. my ass would be weeping after those.
Female biological function?.. lol
Those bridges are CRAZY

female biological function. LOL! Very impressive, ma’am. You are super tough. I wish I had that kind of strong on a GREAT day. Those bridges, good gracious!

Finally, I have to use the bathroom, thank you. This always happens when I sit down to log my workouts. I am feeling there is something “not right” with me right now. Or maybe I am just having one bad day and I will be ready to push myself and squeeze out PRs again this coming week. I don’t know. I have a day where I perform really shitty at least once or twice a month without fail. I used to believe I needed to deload 1 week out of the month but my boyfriend has kind of talked me out of that. He thinks I’m not advanced enough to need deloads, and he never deloads, but once a month around my period I feel I don’t even have a choice and my body demands a deload…like its not capable of performing close to my max. I don’t know if this is sound science or just a psychological issue. Does anyone know if deloads are physiologically necessary, and if so at what point in training/how advanced should one be to “need” a deload?
Owlie, I can attest to the monthly deload because I myself feel like the days before my period require a mandatory deload. I play it by ear, but since my cycle is fairly regular, its easy for me to know when its time to scale shit back. Usually it starts when I’m a few days out from the prod and my training is generally shit - then i know its time to “deload”.
I do believe there’s science behind it. In the days leading up to your period both estrogen and testosterone levels dip and progesterone rises. And this is what causes many women to feel tired, achey, etc.
Anyways, I swear by this b/c i feel psychologically it is easier for me to know that my workouts might suffer, thus i don’t take it so bad when they do. Plus I was told that during this time it is easier for women to get injured, not sure if its directly related to the hormones or simply b.c the hormones lead to tiredness, thus form breaks down, or something to that effect.
In the end, you need to listen to your body and see if you can find any patterns. I for one know that I kill my workouts the week or two after my period, which might be due to the fact that estrogen and testosterone levels are nice and stable. Lol. And yeah, i’m going to say it, guys really don’t understand what it means to be an athlete with hormones that shift so drastically throughout the month. So I say, in the kindest way, bollocks to your boyfriend! HAHAH!
sorry for the rant btw…
anyways, FWIW your crappy workout is my dream workout!
What Maschy said. Go ahead and not-listen to your body if you want. But you are smarter than that.
Guys don’t get iron depletion once a month. Blood loss has it’s side effects and I would strongly suggest you listen to the wise women around here. We have ALL at one moment or another deloaded around that time. Some times are not so rough and you can push through. Others not.
Be Smart.
Don’t let your boyfriend tell you what to do. If you need a deload you need a deload. Most women around here take one. What does that even mean, not advanced enough to need one. If you feel crappy and ‘not right’ then you need one. Plus, what is “not advanced”? You lift a shit ton.
