I’m changing things up with my training for a 3 month cycle to see how I respond. Then I’ll be ready top start a strength program again in December unless I really fall in love with this. I’m reading up on DC training but the truth is I know barely anything about bodybuilding, just the tip of the tip of the iceberg so I’m going to start with some pretty basic stuff keeping in all the compound lifts and doing higher reps with less rest plus accessories.
More dumbbells, incline press, stuff like that. I’m really enthusiastic to try new stuff though and really focus on my form and bringing up some imbalances. Tuesday was my first “leg day” it was fun!!
Foam rolled forever, almost cried. could not get that IT band to relax but I lost patience
-Squats
145x12x3-45sec rest(will have to go down in weight or become more conditioned or something to get that rest shorter)
-Goodmornings
65x12x3-45sec rest
-Walking lunges wtf?
50lbs
20x4
-Leg press
3 plates
12x4
-unweighted leg extensions just holding onto the machine for resistance
-standing leg curls
-DC calves in the leg extension machine, well I TRIED at least to hold the stretch for 5 sec and the extension for 10. I started shaking and almost cried again for the second time this workout.
-Man this shit was hard. It sure was humbling and I have a lot to learn.
Number 1-- AWESOME PIC! That’s some hot stuff right there.
Sounds fun. Those squats alone will kill me.
DC Calves are EVIL… but hurts so good.
Beautiful upper body shot.
It’s good to mix things up every now and again.
sounds interesting fo sho!
how are you applying the principles and where can a girl read up on this stuff? I guess I lean more towards the bb’ing side of the house since I’m most interested in attaining a certain look rather than achieving ultimate strength. am I gonna burn for that one? ha
hell no!! I think the two go hand in hand and should be besty friends. Training for strength is fun and my first love but I have really hit a wall and need to take a respite from it, but who knows, if I bring the right kind of intensity to this type of training I may get stronger to boot!!
in bb’ing I think you are forced to get stronger in making steady progress with weight/reps…thats how the body changes, etc…
can you hook a girl up with some reading material? ![]()
scrumptious Owlie…
BEAUTIMUS OWLIE!
sorry about the wierdo neck attack! how strange ! I get busted blood vessels–like itty bitty spider veins myself. I have em on my chest, my ribs, the tops of my boobies
But i get varicose veins too (EWWWWWW) . Genetic badness…and i think also exertion? I dunno. Maybe you got it from benching??
WORD! I think that’s exciting too to try new styles of training-- Keep your already incredibly abilities on their toes:)
Hey lovey! Beautiful shoulders you got there.
I think its great that you’re switching things up, and I heard that BBing and powerlifting do go hand in hand! Correcting imbalances and such. So it makes sense to me.
I’m also a bit ‘meh’ about program too - so it makes me feel better that more experienced lifters also switch gears and try different programs.
Can’t wait to see how this goes for you. I predict you’ll kill it. Lol!
nice double bi shot!
owlies goin dogg crap!!!
^^haha if I can handle it!! I am thinking my base strength is adequate to give it a run. It sounds pretty crazy/fun/effective
looking forward to see how the dc training goes, and awesome upper body!
Yup, DC calves is probably the most pain I’ve ever been through. It was probably worse than breaking my foot.
Owlie:
Thanks Alisa! I still need to figure out my programming for the DC training, I’ll probably be starting within the next few weeks after I get settled back into school for the semester. For now, here is a “back day”

Thanks for the encouragement women! More weighted chins to come! Why is it that weighted chin ups give me harder doms in my abs than anything in life ever?? I don’t know, but I like it.

Hmm can I continue doing heavyish squats while doing a bbing program? Like squat heavy every other week and then squat for reps every other week? OI don’t know but I am going to try.
